I like the Advent simply because of their ships and building design. So elegance and beautiful, yet still possess a considerable power. TEC design is so bulky for me, and Vasari design looks more hostile than the refined Advent(fit with their description). oh and anima FTW! my computer almost crash when I have over 125 squadrons in a same grav well. XD

Black market is best for short term. Be a trader and constantly watch the rate of crystal price, while putting your metal(if you have that alot) on sale for other people, put it about 60-80%(not quite working with single play, those damn stupid AI never buy my stuff), depends on the current price, and you will have more income to buy the crystal you need. Depends on your play style, really. If you like a economic/diplomacy style like me, I would first establish a good defend first, and then investing in trade+diplomatic research to generate a huge income from trading with many factions. Only apply to single player though... In online matches, this style need real diplomatic skills to convince other players to do trading with you. XD

IMO, deliverance is best using with invading fleets, since deep into the enemy system, their culture will halt your capture speed considerably even after you taken down the planet, which make it harder to create a stable front line(might just be a little harder). Although this only apply for the original sins. After entrenchment, a star base alone can pretty much help you repel enemy forces.
