The thing is with capitals is the lack of damage. Entrenchment fixed that wiht multiple banks. THAT IS HOW CAPS SHOULD BE. But Stardock killed it COMPLETELY with starbases. A starbases of same cost can take out MULTIPLE CAPITALS. I say capitals do compliment a fleet but not very well balanced. There are about 3 per race that are good. The other 2 are crap. All right to say i have been listening this i'm replying this. I have to say that mines are impossible to avoid when laid at grav well edge. No way to clear a minfield that hits you on entry and i didn't ahve a probalem laying up teh edge of a grav well. Plus i'm playing these games wiht all fast in SP with x2 speed. Flak today is more of a placeholder damage taker. I've relized that in my advent fleets 10 flak is extremely useful. Mostly becuase of it's cheapness (4 support and a cheap cost) and it's overall health. Each factions flak having over 1000 total points of damage. A disiple may kill a flak frigate but a flak frigate is a tank on an early game battlefield. Flak are also actually efficient at taking out squads. The thing is they don't kil the carrier. Thing's i've noticed in entrenchment really anger me. A) AI spam starbases early making it impossible to beat them early game (vasari in this are screwed over completely due to lack of early anti structure unit) B) If you and an enemy has even fleets and one of you attacks the other your fleet is forced to retreat. I play as vasari and you know vasar caps YUCK! not the best out there. Advent caps are by far the most needed for a fleet of their own kind. But have you seen the vasari egg take out ships. Example i had the egg and 10 skirmishers (very early game for me probally 3rd or so) The enemy TEC had 25 cobalts. Thank you positive comment back YESSSS. Starbases now are point defense. You can run around them and avoid them. So thats where the phase blocker above comes in. Having that either on a starbase or in special building would really make scouting be worth while and make people die if they don't scout.

I made this a reply in someone elses post but i think it deserved a new post on it's own. What we are missing is the ability to control nuetrals. Entrenchment should change that. I know they are neutrals for a reason but it really ticks me off that if you have a neutral next to your home you have to do 2 jumps to hit a planet. I think this could be fixed with STARBASES. They seem now more like oversized ships not really meant for defense more just as one of those road spikes in front
The issue isn't the begining cost or strength thats perfect UNLESS WE DOUBLE THE SIZE AND COST AND STRENGTH. I'm hoping that happens. Really do you need to ask. Being true to the star wars fan in me i say YODA. I did have multiple copies. I have vanilla and entrenchment. Copied the directories. It just isn't working for me. The Game works fine it's the mod. I've even used other mods. The save game either isn't showing or is saying INVALID FILE. Normally it jsut says invalid file.
