infernal creator, sorry if i'm being mean to anyone else, but i think you by far had the best reply to the initial post in terms of what i thought this post needed. As i've said time and tme again i really hope this gets stickied because i get tired of having to wait hours playing each race just to figure out what race i'd be best with in terms of strategy. It really helps to be given a push in the right direction. That and that wasn't a stupid reply its a very good one, and one

Holy crap man. What the heck did you do to write that. That is amazing. I've never read anything so detailed. I'd pay 20$ for a book combining all 3 races stories. If you've watched the opening cinematic they tell the story from the Tec's point of view. If you could do that except in letter and diary form for all 3 races i'd send you 20$ in the mail for a printed copy. Even if it didn't have a cover. But i bet if you wanted stardock could and would publish it.
I love how long this initial post is getting with all the stuff being introduced. I don't really want to organize it because if i did i bet i would get conflicting ideas. Based on the way people are replying i think that most of what people say is opinion and they should get credit for it too. I'd be honored if this turned into a sticky and even more honored if i could get over a long enough list that i do need to organize it so it doesn't take up so much space.
Sorry for going offtopic but i myself used to play eve (until a graphics update went beyond my graphics card i got a new computer like a year after so it was too late to rejoin) Great game huh? I got dominix within 3 months (mistake) Anyway i myself feel this game to be more of a offensive game. Defense is key but have you ever tried if the ai is attacking on 2 fronts trying to attack with a big fleet on a 3rd front. Leave defense to small fleets and tactical buildings. I'm no
[quote who="steveroof" reply="8" id="1983943"]yeah in the poll tec is the most popular and vasari the least, and yet most formers play vasari is seems. I like all races equally and I can't decide on a personal favorite. The Vasari have great mobility with the phase gates but I don't like their looks. The Advent look terrific and their culture is powerful. Their strikecraft can consume enemy fleets because you can quickly get swarms of them. Their tradeports set to resource focus ca
so far everyone who's made a great observation has gotten a karma point and a pat on the back. I'm happy that everyone here is working to make this post as good and informative as it can be with it being a little unorganized but hey. I'm very happy with all the response's and i'm probally going to stick with vasari. Don't stop posting! As i've said in another post which i will quote below personally i think that the point of entrenchment was to add defensive manuverablitity not just become as we call it "entrenched" any turtling game becomes very boring and takes forever. Sins takes a while on its own but with mines and starbases it just becomes the 10 inch steel plate in front of a bullet. The only way you get through i
personally i think that the point of entrenchment was to add defensive manuverablitity not just become as we call it "entrenched" any turtling game becomes very boring and takes forever. Sins takes a while on its own but with mines and starbases it just becomes the 10 inch steel plate in front of a bullet. The only way you get through is by sending cannon fodder after cannon fodder at your enemy. There should be an easier way to rush. I don't mean like 10 minutes 20 ships hit you. thats just
what is this scout ram mode i've never seen it done but yet again i haven't played online yet so i haven't seen it
Thank you everyone because i found all these to be extremely helpful in strategy to know what to prepare for battles against blank as blank. A question is why does everyone on the forums play vasari. Every other post about faction seems to have vasari players crawling all over them. Yet it seems there are way more Tec and advent players than vasari. I have nothing against that i play vasari as well
Can anyone think of any strategies (come on everyone say it) are so crazy it just might work. I've seen games won with stupid strategies that just plain confuse you. The only reason these would win is because it takes people by suprise in such a way that you don't see it coming. This game makes it hard to do sneak attacks but what about purposly enticing an enemy to take your home planet just for them to find out that you jsut took 4 of thiers because they didn't have any defenses. Anyone wan
well ty i think you answered my question and i gladly thank you. SEE THE SMILEYS[e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
hmm well. i feel stupid lol can anyone delete this post then
i was wondering about alternative strategies such as building a capital ship as soon as possible. I don't know if anyone here has played Supreme commander but when forged alliance expansion came out the game changed from a turtling game to a rush game. I was thinking things outside teh box that could work and might actually revolutionize the game. Lol i just had a post as i posted this so the capital ship thing was already taken.
I was thinking since this game was so complex i think it would be nice to see if we could compile a list of things that each race is good at. Specialties and whatnot. Besides it will help me choose a permenant faction. Things like generalizations and specialties. TEC: Armor, Credit Economy Advent: Shields, Culture, strike craft, Planetary bombament isn't as fast as TEC or Vasari Vasari: Phase missles, resource economy, Phase technology (phase sta
I'm sorry i can't find the link but this post really was suprising to me. It was a debate about why someone thought RTS's were like tetris. Reciting as best as i could remember. "I found playing RTS games a bit like tetris. Starts out strategy building up with lots of thought involved. Near the end it just seems like your making dicisions based on speed more than actually playing the game. Turn based strategies (TBS's) don't seem like that. They allow for more strategy and in-dep
I don't own sins but i'm hoping to get if for chrismas but from what i've seen from the demo i'm a little scared about multiplayer. I'm having a hard time starting up my economy. I've played the 20 planet random and have a hard time getting even 5 planets against easy ai before the 1:30 demo expires. Anyone have any suggestions for starting a game. Normally i start with an upgrade to my worlds population but i realize thats a *NO NO*
