I have no experience on software side, hence, hard to tell if there will be any advantage/hurdle for switching from PowerPC to x86 at instruction level. However, I'm kind of wondering that the reason for Apple to jump to the Intel/x86 bandwagon is because the volume of Apple boxes/systems won't be attractive/huge enough for sustaining IBM to customize their Power/PowerPC-based silicons for desktop systems. While Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo all debut/

Yes, I also bumped into the similar problems after intalling the latest version of OD (Version 1.1 Build 511). The system configuration I have is: IBM ThinkPad T40 with ATI Mobility Radeon card. It looks the old built was more stable in terms of displaying the icons on OD
brazil, Thanks for the note. You're right that we are WB junkies and Guinea Pigz Don't get me wrong that I'm going to dump WB. Instead, I'm addicted to it. All I want is to make sure that I don't screw up some WB features when running on Windows XP just because of my ignorance on software stuff. Regards,
Greetings, Is anyone bumping into time-bound problem (Timeout, You are using a time limited build of WindowBlinds 4. This build has expired) when running the latest WB? I was just wondering if weblod (version 4.0.0.0, created 3/20/2003) contains some restrictions that prohibit me to run WB. I have to delete this file and invoke WB manually everytime when login (instead of automatically running at start-up). My previous versions of WB also got losted. <b
brazil, Chris, and KarmaGirl, Thank you all for the tips. brazil - you just hit the nail. I didn't perform the step of "Tools/Refresh Application Data" step, hence, the latest versions of the software didn't show up at all. After following your suggestion, now things are looking good Chris and KarmaGirl - Yes, I have updated the SDC to 0.99c version. Appreciate,<br
brazil, Thanks for the reply I did try to set up accordingly as you indicated above. However, I still could not get latest versions of software update from SD. For instance, the current latest version of DesktopX listed on SD is 1.90(b), 2/13/2003. While CM shows that DX 1.94 is available, 3/25/2003. Regards, David Lin <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com
Greetings, Not quite sure if the problems that jessierubio encountered as similar to the ones I bumped intp when applying LogonStudio. I also failed to get logon on screens even the LogonStudio could be invoked. The error messages I got were something like: "Parser Message, Value creation failed '' at line xxxx." I did send out inquiry to Stardock technical support site, but no reply at all
Greetings, I was just downloading the WindowsBlind 3.98c via Component Manager few minutes ago. Somehow, the CM asked me to switch to Stardock Central for installing the new WB. However, after I invoked Stardock Central and checked the available software, there was no WB 3.98c listed out there. Nor does Stardock Central display the latest available alpha/beta versions from Stardock, such as DesktopX. Just want to make sure if this is normal for running Stard
Still find "My Computer" not working well. Also, when I launch "command prompt" (a shortcut to cmd.exe) from OD, there is always NO icon showing at task bar area. I have to quit OD and re-launch then I can see the "command prompt" icon. Meanwhile, it always bothers me on how I can have two separted icons for Netscape (browser and mail features) if using OD icon to replace the original ones (Netscape 7.X has different icons for browser and mail).
Not quite sure if anyone experienced the problem when clicking the "My Computer" icon!? There was nothing pumping out with this version of OD for running on Win2K while previous ones could always bring you a new window that shows your A/B/C/D hard disks. Any clue? Thanks!
