I've been trying to get this to work as well, but I find you need a resource cheat like the AI has to get it to work. You need to outnumber the enemy, and that's hard to do. I think the key to approaching this strategy isn't as a "mature" strategy, but rather as a rush strategy. You don't need any labs, so that's five extra light frigates right out the door at the start of the game. I think if you combine that with a carrier capital ship (giving you strike craft to cou

I totally agree with the issues you've identified. Rook is leaning on his towers, Erebus on his bite, and Regulus on his mines far too much. That said, I don't think you've given the same attention to the beast's spit. Rather than saying beast is overpowered with spit, my argument is that beast without spit is horrendously underpowered. In fact, I'd go so far as to say unplayable. While other characters may lean on some skills heavily, the beast is completely dep

The enemy team does get better, actually, it's just that your allies getting worse is much more noticable. It's nearly unplayable in a game where success comes down to teamwork, and dying too much makes you a liability to your team. It certainly sucks the enjoyment out of the game. It doesn't help that the AI just doesn't know how to play some demigods (I can't tell you how many times I've killed an AI Rook because he moved into tower range to use structural transfer, got st

The thing about prison is that once the front line towers go down you're trapped defending your base because it's so open and exposed. It's easy to keep those portals, but on the other hand, it's trivial for the other team to control the three flags in the middle of the map, ensuring their eventual victory. Once you're actually able to steal those portals, your win is usually assured anyways on prison. Cataract. though, is all about capturing the flanks. The spawns tak

I've never seen a competent hammer slam Rook, to be honest. I played against a slam rook as a tower rook today. It was an utter slaughter. We had the flags locked down from the word go (Prison) and they never had a chance. They could do nothing but back off as soon as my towers were in place. The thing about hammer slam is that it may do great damage, but three or four volleys from a tower farm will easily do more damage, and it's a persistant, multi-purpose be

I'd imagine he must have purchased a bunch of graveyard upgrades at the citadel to respawn faster. This does bring up a very serious issue. Aside from trying to intercept him some distance from the citadel, I don't see a good way to stop this in a 2v2. Building hit point upgrades are actually a very good investment, since towers cannot be replaced. Having a mostly intact tower line in the late game can be extremely rewarding, and I have come to agree with others that

While he has a bit more option late game, early game Rook is all about tower spamming. If you see a rook, you can presume this is what he's doing (I have yet to see a competent Rook who doesn't pick towers as his first skill). That said, Rook is very map specific. There are some maps he just rocks on, and others he just seems to fall behind on. I find that Rook is very hard to play on the "Brothers" map, because there is only one location on the entire map tha

Pantheon is random teams. UB is great for picking off demigods that go out on their own. As a result, he can easily rack up silly amounts of gold when there is even one poor player on the other team. The same goes for many other demigods, but the beat is simply best for chasing down and making that kill against an inexperienced player. I think it's premature to say that the beast is overpowered. I think he's one of the best choices you can make against beginner

You can't have any frigates when completing this achievement. That should cause quick-start to automatically result in failure. This necessitates using a colony capital ship and playing on maps that don't have neutral extractors.

If there's one thing I learned in highschool, the people who pirate invariably won't purchase the game. If they can't get it for free, they'll find something else to pirate. Even if you do stop them (that'll take a miracle in the age of the torrent), they'll just go off and play something else. DRM is a waste of your time and effort, and I'm glad to see there's at least one rational publisher in the industry! I remember reading just a few weeks ago about a Neverwinte

I've always wondered why this wasn't a game setting. Leave 20 as the default, then allow other options as well. Also the experience boosting citadel upgrade isn't worthwhile unless you set experience gain rates to slow. Not worth the gold when you'll be level 20 soon enough anyways.

Rook shouldn't even enter the range of a tower unless he's got significant backup or he's a very high level. That's just asking for trouble. The guy's tough, but not an unstoppable engine of destruction by a longshot. I learned early on that the rook is a defender, not an attacker. Enemies that come to fight him on his own terms are in for a beating, but if he goes out of the offensive he does so at his own risk.
As I have said in other threads the reason for this is for tournaments: # On Easy -> Player team mates are nightmare; Enemy are easy # On Normal -> Player team mates are hard; Enemy are normal # On Hard -> Player team mates are normal; Enemy are hard # On Nightmare -> Player team mates are normal; Enemy are nightmare[/qu

The "easy" difficulty, as with most games, is for young children and others who just don't have much (if any) experience playing video games. It's not designed for you or me or anyone else on these forums, so it's a little hard for us to lay judgement on its purpose. Just because normals will win on their own even without you doesn't mean you'll be able to keep up with said normals and enjoy the game. That said, it's superficial and patronizing even at the normal difficulty.
The new female-demigod should also be wearing armor of some kind, just to contrast visually with the skin-and-cleavage look of Sedna and Thorny. I think the only issue is when you get a "weakest link" that keeps feeding. A possible change to the gold bounty system would be to reduce the amount of bounty on a specific character after each death. That bounty would build back up over time, but if they die repeatedly they won't be worth a lot. This would mean if one player on the team is dying over and over again but the other players are doing just fine, it's not a big deal.

A better AI in general would be nice. Personally I'd prefer shared control on player drop/quit. Just let me manage two demigods at once and distribute the gold myself.

Well, I gotta say that I love dragons, so here is my take on how a dragon could be made in Demigod: Name of Demigod: Dragon Type: assassin General Description: A sprawling wyrm bristling with horns and barbs, scaled from head to tail, with a massive wingspan. Its girth keeps it landborn (most of the time) and it its razor claws are its primary weapon. Ability 1: Immolate The dragon unlea
This is where replays would be awesome
Yeah, wish I'd have thought to take it. I was totally pissed off after that, though, and just quit the game. It's a little tough when you poured all your resources and efforts into your attack damage and attack speed, only to run into a character who shrugs off all the damage like it was nothing. I don't think her damage was that high, and that's because I had some massive life steal of my own.&nb

I tend to agree that games are usually won and lost on war score. I just finished a match where my team died 53 times in total (I only had 5 of those deaths), and the enemy team died a mere 19 times (of which 9 were my kills). We won because we had higher war score and just swamped them with spawns. They couldn't leave their citadel because their spawns were way weaker than our's, so we just kept total map control. As well, they were all level 20 so they couldn't even

I was playing a 4v4 game with hard AI's last night. The teams were UB(me), Rook, QoT, Regulus vs Sedna, Oak, Torch, Erebus. My allies were playing particularly poorly, feeding the other team regularly. I personally find the AI butchers Rook and QoT, playing them absolutely atrociously, but that's another story entirely. I managed to keep the kill count roughly even, despite Sedna's constant interference and the fact that the Oak had been fed with lots of kills from my alli
