Count me in as well, Sinperium!

I, too, shall fly an aurora like sparda, when I am not serving in Squadron 42 (due to my extreme "skills" in aerial combat ("skills" meaning complete lack thereof (my name has become a synonym for "terrible" in games in my family))). When I improve, and get a better ship, I would enjoy flying escort missions for any of you who want it. Anyone thinking of making a sins-forum guild/clan/squadron?
Very impressive..... :D going to do trading or exploration?
Similar to retired roman legionaries given land in the last country they served?
:D Thanks sinperium, that cleared up pretty much all of my questions about in-game ship insurance. Random question: are people leaning towards being citizens or non-citizens, and why? I think I'd want to be a citizen; I like the idea of being a veteran of Squadron 42 who just got his honorable discharge, heading out to work as a PMC or bodyguard for miners and merchants.
As long as I can buy a hornet and its insurance for no real-money investment other than the initial game price, I'm happy. I'm a slow, inefficient player; everyone else will be in infinity-class carriers by the time I get the hornet, whether they fork over real money or no. Some games do make you jump through hoops to get higher tier gear they want you to pay for; from what I understand, Chris Roberts does not want that. When I am rich and famous, maybe I too will spend money on a pow
Makes perfect sense, thanks sinperium. I'm also looking forward to when Stardock and Ironclad release Sins II. :D
So.... if I just donate $10, will that make me eligible for the lifetime insurance, as long as I do it before the end of the week? Can't afford a ship, but I think the game looks really cool.
If I may add an opinion (do not have rebellion yet, waiting for a new machine to appear), for such a test to be entirely fair, you would need to conduct the test multiple times, preferably with different people conducting it on both sides. That way, differences in skill and micromanagement would skew the data less, and it would prove the overall strengths and weaknesses of both ships in various situations.
So you are saying the Kol is useless in MP because its abilities are lackluster for the most part? Makes me wonder how it could be improved; as another SP-only person I've enjoyed using it as my first cap.

In answer to centurion Jixra's last question: I agree. The best players are the ones who can adapt to changing situations, and making these changes will not knock them from their perch. But it would be nice to be able to counter fighters without having to resort to fighter spam. And I would prefer a stronger cap ship that can give and take more damage before succumbing to the inevitable. Then again, I haven't played multiplayer, so I can't exactly speak with first-hand experience about it.</p
the keys "v" and "b" let you zoom in and out. "z," "x," and "c," give you single ship, gravity well, and galaxy view, respectively. I learned these because my touchpad didn't zoom. I always blamed the touchpad. It only works half the time for anything I'm doing. Didn't work for Battle for Middle-Earth 2, either.
Someone suggested capturing planets without completely destroying the infrastructure. What if the culture-producing buildings "converted" planets to your cause? Everyone on the planet completely rebels and joins the "liberating" forces, instead of sitting apathetically at home waiting for a colony ship to come and bring new colonists. Whether the buildings already there convert as well or not can be discussed. I also like the idea of the pirates being more of their own faction instead
You only have to find the right one. Kind of hit-and-miss. found it though. It's like getting an artifact.
Thanks, Annatar, Just to clarify, I did do the manual register, using the cd key provided.
thanks
First off, I'd like to say that I really enjoy playing Sins. I don't really play too many computer games, because of where I live, but I chose Sins because it interested me, from the couple hours I played at my cousin's. Good job to the designers and producers, and Stardock. I just have a few random questions about several aspects of the game: How difficult is it to download patches from Impulse? I've got patch 1.05, but won't be able to download Impulse for a couple months be
