I just got entrenchment about 2 hours ago, played one game as vasari. I got spanked. 4 or 5 of my SBs died. Anyhow, i kept using debris vortex but couldn't notice it doing anything to help my SBs hull health. Can anyone explain debris vortex for me and when to use it? ty
I've never use Rapture's Domination ability. What do you all think about it? Does it permanently take control of the enemy frigrate, and if so, what are some good priority targets? I'm thinking carriers b/c they piss me off, and HCs.
Ok, balling up works like a charm. As long as there are no flak, and not many people in Multi build flak. Works wonders for the advent when you group up everything nice and close together too.
[quote who="DrReich" reply="15" id="2060074"]I'm just gonna jump in here and share that a level 6 Marza is easily one of the best caps if not the best cap in the game. Take it off auto attack, disable all other skills, click stop and then click Missle Barrage. It's best to do this when you have a fleet of hoshikos or repair bays handy since to get the full effect you have to stay put for 20 seconds. Assuming that you're enemy is advent witha whole flock of illums and discs y
Well then that explains what happened when i built my 5th jump and the trade income from my top planets went from 4.8 to 5.4 The multiple makes sense then. Good to know! :) :) Now, what happens when the longest route goes through an asteroid field? It becomes longer, but does that also increase the income rate? I'm thinking yes.
From testing out the TEC a little while ago, each trade port you build that further extends the line, definitely increases all tradeport incomes, usually by 0.1/s to 0.2/s depending on how many trade ports one has at a planet / roid. Still need to test it out a bit more to be sure. But thus far it's looking good. Let me know if I'm wrong, or give me a scenario to test.
Ok, I'll keep working on balling them up. But how do I get my fighters to target frigates instead of enemy fighters when the fighters pass by? would bombers be better?
So from what you're saying, "only" put trade ports on the planets that are included in the longest route? So don't put them anywhere else? Really? I always thought more the merrier. If we go by putting them only on the longest route example, then let's imagine the letter F looking like a trade route. Would that second line in F mess up the longest route?
I've witnessed experienced players giving their stirke craft "hold" orders, effectively making them ball up and shoot anything that's around them. So I gave it a try with my fighters by telling them ball up near a large group of assailants. Well, instead of shooting the bloody assailants, they shoot the enemies strikecraft flitting about their area. So as soon as I click on "attack assailant" they go flying off again. Doesn't seem very effective to me. What
Under the EMPIRE tab at the end of a game when you are viewing stats and such, there is a "user actions". It usually shows that players had many many many thousands of users actions. Are these high numbers generated by clicking a bunch of what? My numbers for user actions are in the low 1000s and everyone is in the 100,000s. What gives?
Can someone please explain how these exactly work? Sorry for the nooby question, but I've never seen how these work in a game.
For the life of me I cannot figure out what determines the size of the lost fleet when you order one. I know it can be upgraded, but sometimes I get a bunch of ships and sometimes only 3-4. So what determines the size of the lost fleet you receive? My only two thoughts are your max fleet size slots and if enemy ships are present in the same gravity well.
Does the Hoshikos repair stack? Meaning, do if you had two Hoshikos repair the same target, would it double the repair rate. Instead of a 20armor/s would it go to 40/s ?
Really? That's kinda cool. I always thought it had to be in the area where the cap ship died as well as a new cap ship. Does it have to be in the area where the cap ship was destroyed?
My two cents: I just won a 3v3 with siege frigates. Sent one fleet to kill the enemy fleet early on (as TEC none the less), and sent another smaller fleet (8-10 LRMS and 3 sieges) to his home planet and whammo, he had to drop everything on the frontlines b/c his pop. was dying. They DO work. But only in a handful of situations. Mine was one of them. So for me, that one game, I liked them. I personally hate waiting 10m
Awesome post. I keep flipping between all three races after kicking wiped in my 1st multi player. Will keep coming back to this guide to reform my own strategies. Thanks for the indepth analysis!
Every time i sign online, i don't see a single person. Where are you seeing all these players?
I would be interested in multiplayer. Been playing a week. Would like to see how it is playing online. PM me with a date and time and I am game. Also, if anyone have a playgroup looking for one more, let me know.
I am in. Can play Thursdays and Saturdays. Most days in fact as long as I get a heads up. PMing you now.
I'm in. When do you play?
Hi there, I've read most of the threads but have not found any dedicated player groups. By this I mean like Yahoo Groups or some such that organize times to play every month. I'm looking to play 1-3x a week with several people online. Anyone know about a playlist of players interested in playing? Sort of like Friday night poker except it would be Sins? Thanks. Jeff <p
