Here is an unrelated idea to balance carriers a little, and added a funtion to docking strikecraft. How about carriers move at 50 or 25% speed while strikecraft are deployed. You dock strikecraft while on the move, and deploy while attacking. This will prevent people form just kiting all day with their carriers while the strikecraft wreck havoc.

I personally believe the Crusader is hands down the weakest of all the HC. When I play Advent I hardly ever even reasearch them. Not to mention they have no use if you are using lots of guardians with repel, due to their short range.

I won't touch solo with a ten foot pole, boring as easy as hell. I only play multiplayer, and although I am semi-new, I play quite a bit. In all my games I have had only one minidump, and it was after I won and I said to keep playing. I play on a cheap laptop (without a graphics card too), so I have the game close to the lowest settings. I have never had a problem with SOASE besides the occasional tiny bit of lag, I am glad I don't get the minidumps, cause this i

[quote who="Astax" reply="4" id="2054239"]Well any end game fleet can kill anotehr end game fleet. If you are tlaking about full advent with all ship types packed tight it is impressive, but imagine that vs a full armor TEC fleet with tons of kodiaks and lrms with AOE (LRMS can outrange repel) and a nice Marza Duo to ruin your day. Same thing for Vasari fleet that with 1 carrier + repair ability on Enforcers have almsot unkillable Heavy Cruisers. And of course AOE disable fr

How do you break down your fleet into diffrent fleets? Do you put all your units into one fleet so they stay in formation? Do you put them into fleets by ship type? Or do you put them into fleets of 10 ships of a specific shiptype so it's easier to micro? I am curious what's the best way to organize your fleet.

My advice to you, if you REALLY REALLY want to get great at this game. After you beat the AI a few times, log on to Ironclad Online and start playing some real people. Once you start playing real people your skill will grow exponentialy. Since the computer play the same way everytime, and are programed to act a certain way its not too hard to beat them. People all play diffrent and people adapt, which in turn will teach you to adapt. So you wanna be good? C

The AI is very very stupid, and very easy to beat even on unfair. They do really stupid things like send expensive unprotected seige to their death. Build way too many LF off the start but do nothing with them, so they just take a blow to their economy for no reason. There is very little challenge in facing the AI, it takes very little skill to beat them IMO. Which is why you should quit playing AI and log on to Ironclad Online, and play against real people. So I can kinda guess what an Advent Battleball is, its a bunch of advent ships and caps being protected by guardians with repellusion. That would be my guess, judging by the name. The repellusion keeps all the enemy ships at bay so you can just fire on them. Although I think I know what it is, I have some problem doing it. It never works smoothly for me. My fleet usualy ends up breaking up and being too far spread out for the guardians to sucessfully repel all en

I know TEC's biggest advantage is their economy. In early game is the only economic advantage early trade ports, or do they make more off taxes too? Early trade ports is kinda a bitter sweat thing. If you try and get them too early you just may get wiped out/

Yes it would be nice if all those offline people would play online, but we can do absolutly nothing about it. That is, unless you know one of these fools in real life. I call them fools cause they are missing out on the best part of sins. Buying sins for single player is like dating a super model for the good conversations. But we can influence people have not yet bought the game to buy the game for the multiplayer. Since we are recruiting people we already know

I think we can all agree, not being able to find a game when you want to play sucks. Especially since I can log on to warcraft3 at 4:30 AM and find a game in 30sec, and that game can't even hold a candle to SOASE. So here is my proposal, every single person who currently is enjoying SOASE over ICO, go out in real life and recruit one peson who currently does not play SOASE and get them to come play multiplayer. If every single person just recruited one person we would double

Heh I called tech support a few weeks ago from my cell phone. I didn't realize til I hit dial "holy shit, this is the same area code as my cell!" I live in walking distance from stardock, my mom works across the street. I am an insurance agent, I thought about prospecting them, it would be so sweet to have the devs of the sweetest game ever as clients. It might even be hard for me to consult with them, I'd be star struck :P eh I am a nerd I guess.

Allow an option to make allies start by each other. Random starting places suck. This should be updated in a patch, the next patch. The outcome of a game seems to be determined by starting places a lot of the times. If you are surrounded by enemies, you know chances are you're gonna die. I would imagine this wouldn't be too hard to add, although I admit I have next to no programing knowledge. I know the devs are spending most of their time and resources on

Smurfs are kinda lame, but at least I was on the opposing team (I'm assuming thats the game.) that kinda evened it out since it was my second game ever.
