I'm sorry, Antorak Marauders...where? (ok i changed it) Sorry guys...messed up there, but apart from that you like? I read about an idea for super-caps in another thread - my story, as the next chapter will uncover, is set 2 years after the discovery of the Advent, 12 years into the Vasari War. Love your story btw, Orodum! Apollo999 - The Author

Following the success of another SOASE story, I've written my own - "Prey". Here's the first chapter, more background to come in the next chapter, but I've got some action here to get you hooked...hopefully. If you like it I'll write some m
I just find the TEC more accesable - I mean you can see us building ships like that one day...
BEFORE THEY CAME BEFORE THE TEC BEFORE AN EMPIRE A LONLEY PLANET EARTH THIS IS NOT A CLAN - THIS IS NOT A SOLAR EMPIRE... yet THIS A SOCIETY OF LIKE-MINDED PIONEERS READY FOR THE FUTURE - READY FOR SOASE! WE DESIGN, WE PLAN, WE FIGHT AND WE WIN - all on the net <
Hey, I saw a post yesterday asking for people's fave ship. But pessimistic me thought - What's your most hated ship? Mine (as a TEC player) is the oh so light armoured Sova Carrier! Apollo999
I'm TEC player. I find the early strikes are the most important - if you can kill someone off early your in with a chance! Heres a cheap minifleet for the the start of the game or garrison etc. 40 Cobalts 20+ Javilis LRMs 2 Caps (recommend Kol Battleship + Akkan Battlecruiser) As far as the bigger fleets go - replace Cobalts with Kodiaks, keep the LRMs for anti-frigate duties, have a 2 dozen or so other cruisers and add another 2 caps of your choice (not t
On the black market menu, look under all the stuff about buying and selling. Mouse over a few (i think its the little one with 5.0 on, bottom right) and click it. Then you can sell metal and crystal to allies! Hope this is actually right? Apollo999
Its coooooooooooooooooool!!! (The grammar and spelling was fine!) Perhaps if theres too much you could adapt it into a tactics guide. Then newbies could look at it - because, lets face it, all manuals are useless! I'd be willing to help out a bit on a tactics guide if you want? I also mainly play singleplayer and also think the AI can be a noob. Apollo999
Isn't it interesting how we all pick Caps? I'm gonna break the chain and pick the LRM Missile Frigate - for it's awesome ability to dessamate the enemies Kodiaks and Colbalts (or Vasari and Advent equivelents). The LRM really frees up the Caps and Cruisers to focus on the important stuff - not the pesty frigates. What the LRM lacks in versitility - it sure has in purpose! Apollo999
Good point. Nonetheless, 2 abilities hardly justifies its build or training cost. Apollo999
Course Cap ships should age! Its a fact of life - and should be reflected in SINS, especially on the larger maps. In fact, military techs should only take effect on the next ship built, opposed to upgrading the entire fleet. Perhaps older ships could return to shipyards for non-structual refits and upgrades? This would put more pressure on fleet rotation - and importance of each (usually expendable) frigate. Apollo999
Good question. In my opinion, Missile Batteries are just about the only reason I build Sova Carriers. I find strike craft to be ineffective in offense, and if the enemy have just 1 or 2 flak frigates the bombers drop like flies. I only use strike craft based off Hanger Defense Platforms - simply to halt an enemy offensive long enought for a primary fleet to arrive. Not to mention the Carrier itself...half the weaponry of other Caps...almost nonexistant shielding a
