Only if you watch the post in 3d, otherwise it is just the poor imitation of Alice in Wonderland that aired on Syfy.

Wow this thread is still going. Usually my replies turn the thread into a zombie. I didn't realize there would be so many zombie exterminators...

Has anyone mentioned fixing Advent and TEC starbases so they can fire at targets above/below in the gravity well. This would fix the biggest Z-Axis issue IMO (excluding mines).
front line sb's are armored and gunned up as much as possible. strike craft are always fighters since the sb's do not have anti-strike craft capabilities.
I prefer fully upgraded strike craft with mostly bombers, PJI, Repair bays and hanger bays. I put my fighters in the hanger bays. I want them to suffer if they try spamming carriers, vasari sb, or capitals at my front/rear line. Worst case they switch to fighters and actually have to engage the starbase to r
I played one 5v5 game where a team member was heavily entrenched on the far side of the system. Eventually both enemies became frustrated and went to culture killing and he lost his home world. However, he didn't quit (our team had top two economies feeding to help). I was able to drop an Advent Starbase on his home planet which was still entrenched. After upgrading the Starbase with the Culture Upgrade he was quickly able to re-establish his home world a
The Z-Axis exploit can be done with anything, not just Vasari starbases.
True, it just seems people complain more when the Vasari starbase is used. The quotes above where from watching a replay from a recent game and watching the two players whisper at each other. In fairness the guy who was the victim of the exploit didn't whine to us about it but he did quit when he could have stayed in the game a little longer.
I dont even know how to u
Elevators/load scenes where way more annoying than the Mako! Loved the game overall though.
We all know the conversation... [Advent] Cheater!!! [Vasari] Illums are bugged too [Advent] fu@# you [Advent] fight like a man I'm curious which one the online community finds more irritating, the Illum extra damage bug or the Vasari Starbase Z-Axis exploit. And please, don't claim the Z-Axis is not an exploit when it's used to position over the TEC or Advent starbase which for some reason can't shoot in all directions. Z-Axis in general is fine, bu
We should all learn to live with the smurfs so they can teach us their smurfy ways...

Wow, that is cool. I need to start using that to compile my application at work. Right now, I can take a coffee break, a health break (ahem!), go for a walk, and then watch the last minute go by... Only to rinse and repeat because I missed some silly issue [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Here is a more recent thread on this type of discussion... https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/370937
I also have the distant stars mod would like to try playing it online again. Additionally, I now have a machine capable of not lagging out the game. Last time I tried distant stars online with the old machine it did not fair very well [e digicons]X([/e] Zmb5
So scouts can take out LRMs? So bring in a combo of scouts and seekers?
Also, move your weaker fleet out once they take out their target. For example, move the scouts out of the planet after they take out the siege and lrm. No reason to lose them unnecessarily (especially on a heavily guarded terran) so they are available for the next planet. About to lose a LF (50% health or so), retreat it out to the previous planet you just built a repair bay
I have pre-ordered diplomacy. 1) Because I like Sins of a Solar Empire SP as well as multi-player and anything that adds to the game play is fine by me especially for $10.00 (sadly I've purchased worse for more money). 2) If the game continues to show support with the last expansion then hopefully it will lead to a Sins of a Solar Empire 2. I do agree though the current beta is kinda bland, but I'm hoping it improves by release time.
I've been reading this thread since you posted. It is nice to see you are making progress. I'm not a pro either, but here is one of my recent experiences in a 2v2 (quick start disabled) online today. I managed to colonize 6 planets on my way to the 7th (no trade yet), while building 15 kodiaks, 3 carriers and destroying 1 orkulus in my grav well and one second health orkulus (w 9 kodiaks and 3 carriers, lost none) in my opponents grav well in <40 minutes.
