Personally, I really don't think Hard should be brought down any more. I agree with Seleuceia, that Hard as it stands now is a good difficulty for a casual singleplayer, like myself, to be playing against. Once you go above this, the game does seem to change completely, and increasing the gap here would likely make the situation worse.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! Erm... sorry about that.
Was just wondering, will the normalisation of maps work with the custom planetary defenders (ie. Ferengi D'kora)? Often when playing against other people, one person gets completely screwed over by a wall of Ferengi, as they're very tough beasties early on. On a complete aside, Star Trek Online has Romulans coming as a playable faction on May 21st. D'deridex are probably my favourite ships in the franchise. Woo!
Thanks for the info. I love playing this map, it fits perfectly with the SoA2 mod.
I really enjoy SoA, in fact, I only play it over vanilla with my mates, I hope it keeps coming along, best of luck with the future guys.
The wormholes don't appear to be connected, preventing contact between the gamma and delta quadrants to the alpha.
Preordered this so long ago now. Looking forward to your new project as well. :D
Had a couple of mini-dumps, but that was first turning on the mod and first playing a map. Has been fine since. Once again, awesome work guys. Romulan starbase is shiny. :D
I love you guys. Haven't played 1.21 yet. I may have downloaded the 1.21a patch, thought, 'thats a strange patch, there's only like 5 files' and not realised the main dl was new. I'm ashamed to say it has taken several days to work out my error. Downloading now.
Trying to build the Oberth(?) (fed diplomat) causes mini-dumps for me, several times. Had a mini-dump as romulans but haven't been able to figure it out. No problems with other races though, played a 3 player game with friends for about 8 hours without problem.
As a Brit, I'm highly skeptical as to the level of intelligence of those they surveyed. Although, it doesn't help thats its an insanely vague and open-ended question. I mean, you could easily find two things which were equally revolutionary and significant in their own specific fields, what about every single invention which led to others on the list?
Unless you want me to add Q himself.
Mwahahahaha! Don't even joke about it unless you're willing to go through with it [e digicons]:P[/e] I just like the idea of having an organic counterpart to the borg, a true nemesis and threat to the borg that the federation never should have been. Not to say they should be in the mod, I'm liking how its shaping up as it is.
It would seem odd for Species 8472 to be wiped out altogether when they had so much advanced biology able to withstand the Borg + the bargain with Voyager which gave them knowledge to anything the Borg had against them. Is it not all too possible that Species 8472 are holding their own in fluidic space and just staying out the way, winning some and losing some, especially if the Borg are turning their attention to the Alpha quadrant rather than fluidic space, as like ev
Yeah, something like that. In any case, I can't wait. Part of me wants it out ASAP, another part of me recognises that if its out ASAP, then I fail my A levels next week, you win some you lose some I suppose.
I think it'll be even better seeing your friend's ships jumping into your gravity well and seeing them see a unicomplex with some cubes around it, well at least the look of horror on their face. Mwahahahaha!
A large part of it seems to be large groups picking up on dubious sources and exaggerating the information thats available eg. the belief that all glaciers in the himalayas would be melted by 2035 according to the IPCC. This information was taken from the WWF and them from an artivle in New Scientist and New Scientist from a virtually unknown indian scientist who himself has stated that this is a false hypothesis from about 20 years ago and he has withdrawn this statement.
Is it wrong that I shed a single tear at hearing that the [e digicons]:borg:[/e] are going to be out by the end of Jan? It'll be the perfect end to a horrible stretch of A level exams.
Would certainly be an interesting option when you've got greater splitting between the tech trees, potentially allowing players to really specialize as they'd have the support available if they need it.
Players should be able to set their own prices for planets, after all it is their planet and their sale. Definitely agree with the destruction of orbital structures etc though. A grace period wouldn't be necessary if there is a severe diplomatic downfall to betrayal as mentioned by Brazilian_joe, for example, a decrease in relations with every (non-allied?) player, unless it is an ally you've betrayed, if you do damage in that system within a certain length of time. The reas
I certainly agree with the ability to donate planets, especially amongst friends and allies. However, I reckon there would be a lot of work involved in making it a feasible trading tool.
Yeah, but there's always brute force, especially if it'll get you on the good side of somebody else who can provide added bonuses such as protection.
On the flip side, by that logic, could also be used to boost allied growth, production, trade and refineries perhaps.
However, how would you be able to create at least a partial guarantee that the planet should be earned for a concession? For example, if it is to create a ceasefire, a player could easily cancel afterwards or would it have to rely on faith?
I like the idea of such an option being part of an alliance deal. I could be wrong, but doesn't the new diplomacy menu give an idea of who is allied, at peace, and against each other, making it a little bit harder to do out right dirty dealings. Either way, I think dirty dealings is certainly something I'd like to see a lot of in Diplomacy. I think it would also be a good addition as one of the existing missions available to give to other players. May be beneficial to send someone aft
SupCom managed with the ability to build the other factions units and while I know there was less difference between them, if there were high costs/penalties such as enormously hightened cooldown etc. on other factions ships, people may use the boosts associated with having them, but they certainly wouldn't be able to become reliant on them.
