SoaSE has always been lagging, overflowing etc. It is only able to use 2GB of RAM, and only 1 whole core. Game still lags, though, even if you got an CPU close to 5GHz... But you know, the developers does not want to make it multithreaded, because it would take them too long! Instead, they keep adding new stuff to the old engine, breaking it even more! Here's an idea, instead of raping the old engine and use years to produce rebellion (Which ironically make
Quoting rowanlad, reply 123It would require a massive re-write and would never return on such an investment. This is why. Its going to take far too long and is far too much an investment in an aging engine. They wouldn't make enough money for them to do so. We are very lucky they are still paying attention to Sins at all, let alone a stand alone expansion.
But then they are just chugging up the pipeline
I just do not understand why you can not make the game use 64 bit or multithreading... The end game still lags for me, it doesn't go and kill itself like it used to do, but does Ironclad expect me to suck it up and be happy over the lag I get? I've bought the product and I am unable to enjoy it to the fullest. And as far as I've read, they do not plan to make that happen either. And now they plan to give out an stand alone expansion pack that will add even more items to the gamep
And if you know that your opponent is going to beat you, you can move a huge fleet into their grav-well and focus fire on the Titan. If the gamble pays off, their framerate hits rock-bottom and the game crashes. So you don't lose. Technically...
Hmm... I like that. Makes it balanced
Suggestion for a Titan Ability: Upon being built, the Titan will emit an aura that affects nearby computers so that the game will instantly support up to 8 core processors and 196 GB RAM. If the Titan gets destroyed, you're back to square one with 2GB RAM limit and single core. This way, people would be very careful about exposing the Titan to a firefight they can't win ^^
What should they copy from Zero Hours?! I dont get it, is C&C now an Space RTS and 4X?
....Uhm... No. Faction, Zero Hour had factions. Remember what was positive and negative with the factions in Zero Hour? Do you remember that they were unbalanced, as in heavily focused on one thing, seriously lacking in another? Some may call that balanced, and I agree. But did I pick China infantery faction? No.
It seems kind of a stretch to say they are copying Zero Hour. I'm sure that's the only game in the history of gaming to offer modified versions of the same faction. And even if they did, what the hell would be wrong with it, zero hour was a great expansion pack. I hope for moddable AI as well, but it certainly not a game breaker if they don't have it.
Did not say that they did -.- And wrong with

This new stand alone expansion just sounds like an rip-off from Command and Conquer Zero Hours. I hope that Ironclad isn't planning on presenting the same. Diplomacy was a disappointment, no multi threading is disappointing, still bugs that needs to be fixed in Entrenchment and Diplomacy! I will be voting with my wallet. And my wallet says no. It might say yes if they do not copycat C&C Zero Hours and/or get support for multi cores or open up so that we can mod

If the AI keeps its distance from the SB, people will complain about that aswell. They need to open up the possebility to mod the AI ourselves. I would love to do that. Having A.L.I.C.E. in the game would be fun ^^
I agree, AI needs a patch. or a total makeover. Learn something from Civilization serie or The Guild 2, IronClad!
Diplomacy was a failure. Entrenchment did just as the name said it would, add items in order to entrench. But diplomacy? Where is the diplomacy? I have yet to see any socalled "diplomacy" in the game. Does "diplomacy" promote diplomacy during gameplay? No, you make pacts, but the pacts are shitty and comes too late in the game to have an affect imho, so you really just don't care wether you form 'em or not. You could have added diplomacy to the game. Something like The Guild 2
Sure, make it use XXXX fleet resource. That way, you only got room for one. But back on topic, I have not seen any options that would allow you to do so.
Maybe they just want to establish an relationship with you, why complain?
~SNIP~
For a few posts ago, a fella said that this would turn into an "my rig is better then yours" thingie. Let's not go there ^^. I'm very interested in an workaround, basicly anything that makes soase run more smothly.
I once built an superweapon on all of my planets, saved and left the game, restarted it, left the AI in control of my faction while I took over another one. The AI did not fire them at all. Haven't tried with autofire left on, though.
Stop using trainers?
Just did that...reinstalled on my sata drives...maybe a little extra Torque might help but same thing.... Started the monitor again. Seams the game uses on one of my 4 cores !@$%!%!@$%!@^$%&@#$^!!!!!!! Nearlly every planet i have has a trade and ref... got around 70 ships on my main tank force....thats not counting the Ai's..i guess i just reached the limit the cpu cant crunch all this on one core this sucks
I got a much lousier pc then you, and I'm not experiencing it. My specs are Intel duo core 1.86 GHz 3 GB RAM Vista home premium 32 ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 with 128 MB VRAM It's an laptop ^^ So if the specs aren't the reason for your freeze time, then it must be somthing else. Tried reinstalling?
I've experienced that in a couple of games. The fastest way to reproduce it, is to have one of the players to use a trainer.
Pirates got a really hefty boost. They get some massive anti-structure damage in particular with a very long range. Later in the game, the Flaks and Heavies will even tank Marza Barrage. And the Pirate Base. Remember parking a few carriers and watching all those gauss turrets die uselessly? Not anymore. The pirates are dangerous. And they upgrade every time they launch on a Raid or Mission. ~snip
&n
I've always had the impression that the producers listened to their costumers, which in turn means that most of the costumers really wanted diplomacy to be this way. If that is the case, then they still listens to th
Can AI's now build the super weapon and fire it? Did they include diplomacy, or did they only include the pacts and said 'nuffs? 'cause pacts just isn't diplomacy! Politics are! Is the convoy gone now and been replaced by an real ambassy where, one can conduct spionage and counter-spionage? Please say yes ^^
What the text means, is not that you will get a new 45% increase in damage. What that means, is that with that pact and all the researching etc, your new missile damage will be 45%, instead of f.ex. 35% that it was before the pact, thus meaning that the pact itself only gave 10% increase (not actual numbers, just an example).
