I've been thinking of adding some more "deep space" skyboxes (likely just darkening and adding more transparency to the colorful ones), since I like to be able to see my ship's past the glare of the colors. Now, I know how to do image editing and I found the skybox textures before, but i have no idea how to go about getting them back in the game...

DL'ed. I see Dynamic Movement is still in limbo?
(DS RP) Captain's Log: Jason Retsof: ACE Cobalt 12. (10 days stranded) Well, it has been a very strange week, to say the least. I guess I'll start with the frigate. It was eerie when we got in, not a sound but the creaking bulkheads. I took a couple men and headed for the bridge, while Cal took the other three to help him with the reactor. It wasn't long before we found the first body. Her face was charred,
NOTE: I lied earlier, I'll still be using the logs for infodumps, but I will write some scenes a well. (DS RP) Jason strode in to the small bridge. The signs of their battle were still present. A few of the many forward windows were blocked off by their emergency shutters, and others bore large cracks and smudges of sealant. But what interested him now was just outside. An Advent frigate, heavily damaged but still in one&nb
(DS RP) Captian's Log: Jason Retsof: ACE Cobalt 12. It's been three days now since the battle, since we got stranded here. We arrived with the Aurora Colony Expedition, a venture by a small asteroid colony to find some better real-estate here in Distant Stars. So they bought an old Akkan and a hand-full of Cobalts, put the minimum of crews on them, and lept into the void. We were able to b
Well, since the lore section pointed me here, I guess this is where I'll post. I was thinking about joining the DS RP, but dang that's a lot to read up on. But I was planing on using a mere cobalt pilot that has been stuck floating in the void for a while anyway. So I don't know if that would allow me to be a bit out of the loop. I'll need some help setting up though. I need an out of the way place where a Advent/TEC battle could take pla

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehehehe....silly Advent scum, your SC are useless to you now.
... I don't get it...
You know, the pirates are much easier to deal with when they jump straight into a couple mines... Just for those having problems...
Well, I tried it and it didn't help. Is there a way for me to get e debug log for someone to look at?
Alright, after noticing a bug with the AI being able to give missions without doing the research, (thus letting them demand credits from me with me unable to do the same) I decided to run the dev version. Lo and behold, I get assert after assert. Is there a way to install clean files over the old ones without just un-and re-installing it. That's a hefty download.
Alright, I'm sorry for sounding like a spoiled noob, but I was under the impression that if an AI could give me that type of mission then they had done the reserch. But I have been wrong before, so I'll just go back to playing and hope this resolves itself. Maybe I'll see if anyone has had this problem with the base game. I figured I would try to make some ammends here so the nex time I post you're not like "Oh, its that guy agian." S
But the mission type isn't coming up at all. Not even to tell them to give to someone else.
It's still a mission you can give. Though I only notice it appearing as a mission for you to make faction X give to faction Y, not to yourself.
I don't think you are understanding me. I did the research for universal negotiation, the one that links from bounty hunting. The only missions that show up are the "kill X" kind. I also made sure the other faction had given me a "give resour
But I did the research for it... Is there something else higher in the tree?
Forgive me if this has already been brought up, but I do not have the give resources mission. I researched it, and tried to use it one one that had used it on me. Nothing, just kill ships and structures. Makes it kind of hard to build relations.
Great to see the diplomacy system getting renovated. I echo boshimi's sentiment of hoping AI teams will form their own alliances. Also (and I don't know if you will actually answer questions) will the process of the AI evaluating your allies make them more likely to ally with each other? It always bugged me that you could be close allies with X and Y but they would still be at war with each other.
IMO there needs to be more in the middle so that it is less dart shaped.
Sooo.... I'm confused. Does this generate new systems (during or outside of gameplay?), new textures, or just make the process of moding easier for the user?
It's like that so the pirates will still be something of a challenge in late game. This has the effect of making them capable of taking on all the other empires at once in the early game if they felt like it.
Need a little more info than "all messed up."
I like it much better than that mishmash from earlier. This one actually flows with itself.
I've when zoomed out the planet seems shifted down (covers part of the lower info bar) and the planet is cropped at the bottom. I do have an ATI card with the shifted portraits issue. This may be an extension of the ATI issue, but previous versions of DS didn't have this issue. Let me know if I'm not ma
Think the Dynamic Movement system could be made compatible with this? The increased field size and ship speeds would make dynamic battles that much more epic.
That is awesome, but I'm not sure about that machinery texture on the inside if the wings. On a completely different note, what do you use to edit entity files. I wanted to give the planetary defenses more punch but opening the files in notepad just gives me a few understandable words and some gibberish. I'm supposed to be looking in gamedata, correct? maybe I just had the wrong file...
How did you get such drastic terminators? Or are they always like that?
I just found that softimage or whatever it's called for sins models. So if I figure out how to use it I may PM you some concepts.
