To add some sanity to this post, althought noone will probably read it.... EMP charge is AOE, and it WILL hit guardians. As the game title implies, I got 588 creds 1 hour and 25 min into the game. So yeah, its possible.

Fluxfield is.....MEH! unless you like to play multi-star FFAs or something. I dont even have to look up exactly what it does to tell you why its not that great =) It reduces AM cost and cooldown time for abilities aye?....so what. that is really only relevent for the other cap ships you have. so a kol with FF can shoot all his marginal abilities all day long....WOOT????...?? I like what Klem was saying. Conceptually, your goal is to force the advent to produce flak or even LFs (Sents and scouts its a good recipe for this), in either case you will be in a position to spam assailants, and repair cloud makes flak extremely in-effective against LRFs. TEC does the same thing but its even better for Vasari because if you have the carrier caps at lvl 3 your already doing what 10 hoshis can do for your fleet with no addition research. My only complaints are minor tweaks in your explainations. Ion Bolt is THE BEST cap disabling ability in the game. why? its cheap, doesnt break when the unit is attacked, and has a short recast, all the supplies you need to make a dead cap-ship pie =) from stats alone the sova has low DPS, but 3 SC + missile batteries (without crunching numbers) I would have to say gives it the most DPS of all TEC caps....least early and mid-game. Underpowered?....my ass! and fast speeds + no quick start would not be balancing, it would be clear favoritism for vasari. I cannot comment on the decisions of others players I will do my best to respond to the points your brought up. Since the patch (the akkan colonize and carrier cap buffs) I have based the majority of my strategies around 2 caps for several reasons. The akkan colonize is the best in the game, however it sucks at killing neutrals, the sova is an extremely versatile ship early and mid game and also excels at killing neutrals. But most importantly, I hate the waste from losing your scouts

whoops, your correct. soo (D*(1-SM))*(1-(1/(1+A*.05))) D = damage SM = Shield Mitigation A = armor and is damage type factored before shield mitigation and armor? I know it has no effect on the actual amount of damage, but it would effect shield mitigation growth or decay. if so an LRM(11 damage at 75% to cap armor) is doing .88 damage per shot to a lvl 8 marza (assuming 11 armor and 70% shield mitigation) this is cracking me up =) &nbsp

the question isnt really whether armor effects shields, but if shield mitigation works with armor once the shields are down. if it did, tec would basically have some of the beefiest ships on the block. essentially onces your armor mitigation gets higher than the shield mitigation cap, your ships would actually take less damage once the shields are down, significantly less. a better test would be to have 2 of the exact ship fight, one with shields and one without. but with shield regen

do you have a formula for me? are we talking ((1/(1+(X*.05))*100)*(1-.5) cuz youd only receive 1/3 damage with 10 armor at 50% shield mitigation...seems nuts. so a lvl 8 marza with 4 armor upgrades has 11 armor, a max shield mitigation of (and im estimating here) 70...it would receive roughly 19% of all damage.... can anyone verify this?

If I can hi-jack the thread for a minute.... does anyone know precisely the relationship between shield mitigation and armor? Conceptually I would assume armor has no effect when shields are up and shield mitigation does nothing onces they are down. or do they work collusively somehow?? thanks in advance.

Hey Krath here! Figured it was time to blow the top off some of my smurfs and bring you guys some of the more interesting games i've played recently. Advent seems to be the flavor of the....well...how long has this game been out? =) Got some feedback from my last post that seemed to favor 1v1 replays the most. Consequently so this pack has 2 1v1s, a 2v2 with me and Tyr and a 5v5 for good measure. Hopefully these are similar in entertainment value as the replay between Cykur and I.

Yeah Star player disappointed me on that game, he just got over and over and over again by Caius. kind sad. and really it was a golden setup, our seemingly 2 best players on the wings with 3 feeders. also id like to add that CGL is madly out of practice, and tek jansen isnt as good as I had thought. thats all I have about that.
