I'd say its important to know the threshold of what each demigod is capable of... knowledge is power after all... it will stop you from panicking in a bad situation and running when you could easily turn around a situation... Try each demigod out a little (at least in single player, if you don't want your stats to get skewed) and keep an eye on the strat forums to see what people are capable of and what builds they are likely to run

Yes, ban 50 people who bought the game so that Shortlived and his 7 friends can play, rather than dealing with the actual issues with the game Sounds like a great way to do business, and keep your programmers, artists and developers in a job
I bought this for my girlfriend and we've played together a bit, tho I admit she shies away from online custom game play... when team based pantheon comes up we'll likely play together on there Mostly we compstomp the insane level AI (it really isn't that great) tho it can mess you up if you let it get too far ahead of you... we also played a bit of dota together, so the learning curve wasn't that steep And i have to say the learning curve for this game is nothing like the lea
I don't feel that pushing up the middle of cataract with rook is all that good an idea... not sure if I've got it right from your description... but it seems like he was taking all the creep kills and xp without restricting the enemy creep kills and xp at all... what exactly were THEY doing while your partner was spamming towers in the middle? I mean, it is a competitive game, so you get your edge by fighting the enemy... if they scored kills on you while your rook was doing t
I agree with the above posts, the only real way to escape UB is to pump up your speed with the wand and get behind your towers... if he's at the stage where he can run through 5 or 6 towers and still kill you without dying... I think you're side is probably boned, since at its base, it should not be that resillient against that much damage... if its too close to you already, as oak, then you might want to penitence it before using your wand of speed that way it is slowed down and taki
a very positive post here, to be honest I've been laying off demigod since the first week due to the MP issues, but I have definitely been looking forward to this kind of update A lot of the concepts outlined are also interesting tho I say that with some hesitance in relation to the matchmaking system, and community style moderation... i mean in theory these are positive things... but at present I can't quite see how they will work in reality, considering how aggressive a game demigod
I agree with this criticism... normal is far too easy, and for a new player to the game, jumping to hard and online play will be quite a rude awakening... not really sure how you'd fix this... the single player AI needs to challenge the player more on normal mode than it currently does in a way that will 'gradually' ease the player into a harder mode of difficulty... Tho I suppose at the end of the day its just AI, and there are limitations to that when the focus of the game is multip
shouldn't this be in the strategies forum
these day to day updates are awesome... Considering the state of PC game releases these days you cannot put enough stock into interfacing with the communities that you create by releasing something like this hope to continue to reading updates even beyond the point when the game is uber stable (which I hope will come soon)! :)
I feel that early kills in dota are MUCH easier than in demigod, people have plenty of options to avoid becoming meat so early in the game, and frankly I feel anyone that gives away first blood in the first few minutes of the game, deserves to lose... That said, I don't disagree about some nerf to the amount of gold per kill... when you have characters like unclean beast who specialise in quick gank hero killing, and then others like rook who will have a tendency to survive longer and
The first game 2 or 3 multiplayer games I played online, I won with 0 favor items... 'Winning' or 'Losing' have jack all to do with whether you have the swift anklet thing or not... besides the fact that the thing is damn cheap and won't even take you one hour to buy (that is until the - favour points stuff started happening) In my opinion favor items provide an interesting skew on how to build your character... If you really don't want to deal with it, then just
ahhh, makes sense... I thought it was a little odd not to have included this feature
I may be missing something but, alongside the idea of an observer mode The game needs a replay mode... alongside improvements to the pantheon in terms of league game play... to really bring out the competitive aspect of the game... I feel that replays are ESSENTIAL, and I feel like I've missed the post of one of the developers saying, yeah we've got that covered for a future update Any thoughts or clairifcations?
that's cool, do one summoning towers XD
If you are looking at this issue from the perspective of Spit being better than fireball... well it IS better than fireball, but does that imbalance UB? I dunno, its a bit early to tell without some real organised matches or a competitive league going...
I think continuing to talk with the gaming community will hopefully encourage the longevity of this title and this is a really good thing :) of course, I also do hope that the proposed fixes will assist in making the multiplayer faster and more accessible on the connectivity level... even when I connect to Aus custom game from Aus (where I am), it takes at least 2-3 minutes before it can make all the relevant connections (and that's if I'm lucky)... Sometimes I'll try to join
This idea is not good, in fact, it is a bad idea and doesn't address what you really want... which is more characters to fill out these 'roles' that you've perceived in depth in your above post until this occurs, if you really cannot stand playing custom game, I suggest you go back to dota -apem
As far as I can see here, the issue isn't so much the game taking a long time, but CONQUEST mode taking a long time - I'm guessing pantheon mode runs conquest primarily (?) not sure about that fact... in the instance that this was a Slaughter game, you would pretty much win quite shortly as you would probably reach the kill quota limit... The long and the short of it, is that if you want a game that won't be too strongly dictated by the presence of the towers, then play some cust
As a purely aesthetic factor, I do agree with this idea, but if it were to have an impact on line of site (like the trees and landscape in dota), I would have to disagree...
As a casual dota player (I think I'm pretty decent, but not 'pro' as such) I don't think there is a character based imbalance at all at this stage... from the Pantheon matches that I've played, I can pinpoint the reason for this quite squarely on to newb light players who are learning the thresholds of their characters... You'll notice a tendency you notice when you introduce someone to DOTA (or any RTS really), that as new players, they'll have a tendency to be a bit more aggres
I started playing a day after release, and I'm currently recorded as 1W/0L despite having played a number of games already O_o... it feels like its not updating daily at all for me, as it did not even have that 1 game recorded after checking after 1 day
s issue is being worked on for a new build update to the game. Please b
Cheers, looking forward to the update
It seems that in my multiplayer mode, I am LOSING favor points regardless of whether I am winning or losing or killing anything... at present my favor points are at -440, I cannot buy any focus items... and I'm just wondering if there is a specific reason I'm losing favor points, is this how the system is intended to work etc? If I look myself up on in the pantheon, my favor points and experience seem to be fine... but in game... I have -440 points and counting... Sorry if thi
I'm enjoying this game, and don't think it will die... personally, I'd be fine with the dota people going back to dota... don't want to generalise too much, but a lot of people in that community aren't really the kind of people you want to play any game with... i mean 80% of them think they're pro and ragequit when they get schooled by someone who is actually skilled I do hope the intelligent ones stick around and continue to contribute to the community of this game in a positive way.
I also agree, pantheon would be much more fun if you could work together with your friends towards the goal of winning the game... i'm not entirely sure what the logic of not supporting this is Dawn of War 2 features a similar 'ranked match' system where the servers will matchmake for people, however using the GFW overlay you can invite your friends to your team AND THEN search for a game... not saying the Dawn of War 2 matchmaking system is without flaw, but i thought it was totally
