@MishYu: Some people never get them, other people like me will experience them once or twice in a lifetime which is once or twice too many for my liking =), and then other unfortunate people get them on a regular basis. Did you try the perscription pills? My friend suffers with regular migraines and it was interfering with his work and social life, the perscription pills helped him tremendously.

Are you sure you have a migraine or just a headache (quite possible cause by straining your eyes to read the small font)? Have you had a migraine before? If you have a migraine, I doubt you would be sitting at your PC, because that just aggravates it. I've had 2 migraines before, and both times all I could do was lie on my bed in the dark and dead quite. They subsided after a few hours of rest, NO PC. Btw, cluster headaches tend focus in an area in your head, especiall
I think you are on to something. When we developed Entrepreneur, an 8 player MP game back in 1997 it let people on OS/2 or Windows play each other. There was no such thing (for us anyway) as NAT negotiation or anything else. It just worked. I'd go on to Stardock.net and it just worked. I could get an 8 person game going no problem.
A large part of this is that internet security has increased in re
@Vashan: Now thats an odd one, might want to email that to stardock. It looks like you connect to the NAT facilitator just fine, but then a little while later, the connection gets dropped.
Its a strategic choice. Pure stats builds are at a significant disadvantage in the early game, where nuking and lane control shine. However, if you can pull it off, pure stats builds will scale far better in the late game, when abilities are starting to scale out, particularly when artifacts start showing up. By not taking skills means you may very well be sacrificing the game, because games can be effectively wrapped up in the first minutes, so your hoping on the fact that th
This is a bug, try re-selecting your Demigod, this normally solves it for me as a temporary workaround.
@novex: He is probably paying extra for a static IP address, but I'm not sure why he'd need one as a residential user. @LordMerlock: Your game is working because of Demigods NAT punchthrough doing its job, taking away the need for you to forward your ports on your router. You will connect to players faster if you forward your ports, but it isn't going to affect your latency in game.
Yeah, its as we suspected, even the latest Beta does not work. Still getting this in my ImpulseReactor.log: [05-05-2009 19:34:48 935] Message received by CVPMultiplayerEngine: ID_CONNECTION_ATTEMPT_FAILED from 209.124.63.249:6002 The port its connecting on has changed, I assume because its a new server for the beta version, but ultimately still the same problem.
Hard AI, but in particular Nightmare AI, in a drawn out game (level 20), become near invincible. I'm positive they have significantly boosted armor than what is possible, or their inventories are larger than the players. If this happens, I literally just charge their citadel and try to destroy it myself, since no amount of damage items can break through their regen and armor. If you try kill them and do the whole push process again, the game can go on for hours.
The cast time on the potions is prohibitive to actually saving your life in a great number of situaions. They aren't instant cast.
If it wasn't this way, they'd be too effective. They are still very useful early game for keeping you in your lane against harrassers.
@Thrixon: I think thats exactly what they intend to give you on the low quality audio setting. The bare minimum. You will still hear everything, but it will sound... flat (don't know of a better word to describe it). I will say though, the sound effects in Demigod are really well done. A very "godlike" experience to sit with 5.1 surround and play =)
I think people are stuck in static playstyles. They buy certain things at the start of the game, try to follow their build strictly that they know has success, largely only adapting their lane control and killing playstyle as needed. If you don't get out of this bad habit, your going to be stuck dealing with spit forever. It will get worse if more decent early game harrasment heros get introduced. I know people hate Demigod being compared to Dota, but it is similar in this cas
It doesn't mean you'll get more lag Silphius. There are going to be two more options in the process of connecting you to other people that aren't implemented at the moment. 1. Port forwarding, connection from you to other players, bypassing the need for the NAT facilitator if your ports are forwarded correctly. This is the fastest method(not implemented at the moment). 2. NAT facilitator. If your ports are not forwarded, the NAT facilitator will try connect you to othe
Thats exactly what I'm thinking. We won't need it, but it will still act as a "middleman" for those that do, and we will need to be able to get through to it. Stardock needs to look into, or atleast provide us on some info on why our connections to the facilitator are getting dropped/rejected. I don't think this is something we can solve without some info from their side.
@Christian Ons: Multiplayer Demos are very common in the FPS genre. Left 4 Dead, Quake III, Wolfenstein etc. etc. However, demo players were restricted to playing with demo players. Infact, the demo version of Left 4 Dead was pulled entirely when the retail game was released. There are some good ideas here already about demo restrictions, so I'll just give my thoughts on the demo users mingling with retail users. It ensures they will always be able to hop straight into
Giving up for now, hoping for a patch that fixes this on Monday. Its definatly something on their end.

Hey, just want to put my findings in here aswell. Netgear DG834 ADSL router. Running the router in Bridge mode (every PC can connect to the DSL account as you would with dial-up, no port forwarding needed, firewalls needed on every machine), the connection info window finds the players and starts connecting to them. Great, this works. Running the router in Router mode (the router connects to the ADSL account and PCs use the router as their gateway), the ports forwarded
Thanks Zubaz, that worked
Solution: Open up comodo. Go to the firewall section. Go to Advanced. Open Attack Detection Settings. Go to the Miscellaneous tab. UNCHECK "Block Fragmented IP datagrams". Apply
Same problem here and I've come to the same solution. Comodo firewall running, on both the Vista and XP (SP3) machine. Completely uninstalling the firewall works, disabling it does not.
I've been trying to LAN Demigod with a couple friends, however, I'm running into a problem. I (Demigod owner) have Windows Vista on my machine. So I went into Impulse, archived the game. Copied the archive to my friends computer (Windows XP SP3), opened Impulse on his machine and tried to restore the archive. Impulse responded with a "Unable to restore archive". Hmm, I repeated the steps incase the archive became corrupt, no go, same thing. So looking around a bit, I s
I just want to throw this in here. I live in South Africa. I purchased Demigod because it looked awesome, even though its a multiplayer focused game and you guys were having problems with multiplayer, coupled with my huge distance from other players. I wasn't expecting internet multiplayer to work for me too well, but I was looking forward to lanning the game. To the point, I have been playing in the pantheon and I'm really happy to say, that I have had only a single game fail
Update, I was able to get Demigod running with Defense+ enabled, by going to the Demigod.exe, selecting it and holding down enter. Also, the DemigodStub.exe does not launch either with Comodo Defense+ enabled. @Savyg: Comodo is as intrusive as you would like it to be. This is definatly some wierd conflict in the Demigod engine, since it does not happen with any other game, and I have 100s of games.
