Just played a game through for the first time since 1.2 came out. Need to say that it was the most enjoyable game I've played so far. Felt way more challenging, balanced, interesting. I was stuck between two unfair AI struggling to defend my few planets. Had one moment where one faction came in and was stomping my homeworld, the other neighbouring unfair AI also launched an assault, and starting battling with the first in orbit around my homeworld when I lost a bounty war and the pirates

Pre-Order check. [e digicons][/e] I'd buy the expansion just for the Titan-Class vessels. Anybody else have issues with trade ships not moving? I played a game the other day where each trade port would spawn trade ships and they woud just sit there. They stayed like that for about two hours until suddenly I noticed they had started moving.

Sith, Sorry I am trying to track the LLA conversation. This is the first mention of it that I have seen in the forum. Is this a function of Windows or is it a third party program that creates the list of executables you mentioned in your post? Cheers

@Frogboy Regarding Diplomacy: Firstly, I always really appreciate that the developers here actually jump into the forums and ask for opinion and feedback. I have never joined an online community predicated on a game until Sins arrived. When I saw the opportunity for direct interaction with players, modders, and developers, joining the community seemed a worthy ventur

I do love Sins as it is. It would be great to have a few more bells and whistles. Certainly running more smoothly would be a huge plus. The only thing I thought was missing from the game was additional Caps in the research tree. I was surprised that no additional Caps were released in any of the expansions. It is interesting how new cruiser designs need to be researched yet you have all the technology to build the most advanced ships in your fleet right from the beginning. I'm sure that this

Wonderful, There were a few threads I contributed to last year that discussed the late game lag even on higher-end systems. A great deal of banter and muscle flexing was exchanged over which systems were superior. But the discussion didn't provide anything useful in terms of narrowing down why some systems had more success in running large games and performed better in the later stages. Finally, a few of us were able to determine that it was primarily higher L2/L3 chach

I didn't realize you could set it for grav well only. Is that in the regular settings?

Yeah. For me, the game doesn't seem to degrade in fps during battles. Rather, as the game progresses, the overall fps just slowly deteriorates, but remains constant. The game will start at 60fps (I think it is Vsynched. Makasuro, I'd be interested to know how you pushed the fps so high. I didn't see a synch setting in the options) But as the game builds, it usually drops to 10-15 and remains there for the rest of the game. I've noted that the performance also seems directly related to

Carbon, I'm just looking at the tree settings now, did you actually remove the Tree alltogether. Can you actually do that? Cheers, Soul

Thanks, Carbon. I will definitely give that a shot. My play style uses the tree quite a bit though. I usually use it to manage capital ship abilities. I will have to relearn it.

The GPU doesn't "suck." Its a GeForce 9800. That's why I'm on the forum. If this were a global issue, I'd wouldn't be so concerned about this one program. I seem to not have any issues running high resolution high textures applications except for this game. @ Carbon, I stacked the Tree. That didn't seem to help. I could maybe play around with the other Tree Settings.

I don't think its VRAM because the fps should've increased when I lowered the texture and screen resolutions if the video ram was the culprit.

I see nobody has posted on here for a while. I hope this means that everybody has solved their various performance issues. While there is debate over the issue, it does seem like despite the systems, some users get this game to run really smoothly while others simply cannot. I've run this game on two laptops. The first was a single core 3ghz P4 with 128mb of vram. The Second was a newer 2.26 ghz Core 2 Duo with 1gb of vram. Both systems started the game at 50-6

Random Events as an Enhancement to Immersion Sirth, I think this is a fantastic idea. And the thought you've given the initial post should facilitate its resonation with the rest of the community. While there have been arguments that this randomized element unbalances the game, SoaSE already utilizes randomized artifact placement</s

Lore Expansion in Diplomacy Upgrades One of the reasons I have really enjoyed the 4X games was the "Clash of Civilizations" stories that are intrinsic to the game's Lore . Where I believe a great deal of unexplored potential remains in Sins is really getting int
