I would definitely like to see the new corvettes. However, I wonder if they will be like Homeworld's deployable corvettes or if they will behave like fighters and bombers but on their own as opposed to being owned by a ship or structure. Also, a few questions to the Devs; will the graphics be more like Trinity? And will there be an overhaul or redesign of the appearances of some of the ships as well as a change to the sound system (i.e. how the lasers and missiles sound off when they get

I've been playing Diplomacy for a bit, but there's no way I could demand gifts from allies/enemies. I tried the Offer Mission button but I still don't get any options. Anyone else have the same issue?

I love Mass Effect! Everything from the gameplay to the story. In my opinion, it is the best sci-fi game I've ever played next to Sins of a Solar Empire and the Mechwarrior series. It blows other franchies like Halo out of the water easily: more mature storyline, more gripping plot, and excellent voice acting and dialogue. The setting is epic, exploring uncharted worlds (though repetitive at times) is intriguing, and the battles you fight can get really frantic. I can't wait to get Mass Effec
Ive had that. i think its because it has to be two sided; i.e. you have to have a high opinion of them before you can offer them a pact, which means they have to send envoys and complete missions (which they dont do by the way)
Yeah, I noticed they don't really go around to carrying out your missions, but I also noticed that if you carry out the mission that you offered (i.e. destroy a ship), <span style="co

Awesome stuff. I sure hope all the tweaks and balances are made by release! :) Just one issue: I noticed that the infocard for the Vasari armament pact says "mutually the". I'm guessing "increasing" or "improving" was left out as a typo.

I was wondering if the difficulty of obtaining a pact would be lowered somewhat. I find it really hard to get a resource pact no matter how many missions I complete for an ally or how many envoys I send.
Quoting GJDriessen, reply 11It would be cool to have diplomatic incidents that involve trade offs with which you have to deal. Another idea is to have a galactic UN (like in galciv2) wich regulary meets and can impose sanctions and has a separate army (kind of pirates) to restore peace and stability. A Galactic UN would be absolutely amazing.
Better yet, why not give a player who has the most territory the power to arbi

No embassies? What a relief! It would be a pain to have to command your envoys to go establish embassies on every homeworld in the map (also might need to get long-range phase jump research cleared before doing so on some maps), and establish new ones on changed homeworlds. Now, as for the changes, I like! The idea of pacts is pure genius in my opinion! But I do have some caveats/questions: - First, the Vasari pacts can be used with any player: all have phase drives, structures, resou

I'm gonna place my vote on the improvements to the game mechanics that have been suggested... IMPROVEMENTS Here are the listed improvements that the community are coming up with. Vote for them if you think they should be implemented. They are divided up by categories... <span style="col

Oh, one more thing: the MENU MUSIC. Please change it. Put something like the original SINS menu music or something calmer and quieter to present an atmosphere of "understanding", or a brooding track... I dunno.
I like all these suggestions. in addition I would like to see more mission types, perhaps something more specific like "destroy planet x" or "destroy starbase y" or "eliminate capship z". also, more peaceful missions would be nice, but I cannot think of much. hmm, well,

I've played a bit so far and I like the added complexity of the diplomatic options. I do have several qualms: - The Vasari still do not have any technologies that give them advantages in missions offered to them (e.g. TEC has added happiness rating if they succeed and lower drop in happiness rating should they fail a mission). I was thinking that it would be interesting if they got one of their own. - Upbeat combat-style tracks are played when an envoy enters an unconquered pl

It's nice to see Ironclad still revamping this great game. I did notice, however, one caveat, and I don't know if this was addressed or talked about. Whenever I select all military units in a planet/star/asteroid/etc., the scouts are selected with them. I'm used to seeing scout and colony ships grouped differently. Did anyone else notice this? And if this is a problem that was introduced, will it be fixed? Or is there a game setting for it that I might have overlooked?

I don't know if this place to ask or wonder about the issue, but I really really like the background for the Diplomacy ad on the homepage (www.sinsofasolarempire.com). I was wondering if it would be made available as a wallpaper?

Ogrov spam all the way if you want an instant takedown. If you enjoy a clash of the titans, smuggling in an Orkulus can work, too.

I like the default names. It's the starbases I have to watch out for, though, since I ended up with more than one Vokorul or more than one Purity or more than Galvanov, if you get my gist.

When I play, I usually randomize my faction selection as each race has its own unique perks, pros, and cons. As a result, the game is always fresh and the challenges are always interesting. However, admittedly, I usually find myself enjoying the game more with the Vasari (you can tell by the avatar, lol): their frigates are generally strong and durable (plus sleek), their cruisers enter the fray with a diverse set of useful abilities. And their capital ships? I mean, come on: if any faction's

Star Trek is original, more intelligent, more provoking, and more in-depth. Halo... let's not get too jumpy here: Halo, in my opinion, is just a mass-marketed sci-fi franchise.
