Just got the 15000 resources bought up on the black market achievement. Wheeee! Only 2 left to go, the pirates one and the strike craft. Hopefully I can do both at once, a map with 3 stars. One with me with only 1 jump lane from the star so I can concentrate my 4 starbases in the star's gravity well. Second star system with like 50 pirate bases, and the 3rd system with an Advent AI with like 10 planets or something for huge carrier strike forces.

Hey, thanks for the advice, guys. I'd like a bit of clarification on the resources bought and the 1000 pirates. For the 15000 black market resource achievement, whats the ideal map set up for this? Do I make a star system with 20 Volcanic planets for the AI to colonize, then have the AI try to buy 15000 crystal from me since Volcanic planets don't have any crystal and the only crystal income will be from the AI homeworld and the 1 asteroid that always get included with the player s
Hey all, I'm working on my last few achievements before I get 100%. 1. 2500 strike craft achievement (whats the best way to get this one?) 2. 1000 pirates killed achievement (impossible in Diplomacy with broken super pirates) 3. 15000 respurces bought up by other players (how do I do this?) Those are the only achievements I'm having trouble and frustration with. I have no idea how to get those.
So the save / reload trick doesn't work with artifacts, similiar to how it doesn't work with planet bonuses + exploring planet?
Thanks guys, you've been quite helpful! :)
Hey all. Yep, its me again with yet another question. I was wondering about Artifacts. I'm using the in-game map builder to create custom maps with stars, planets, types of planets, # of players, etc. I'm not using Galaxy Forge so far. Are artifacts pre-determined at the game start up? Or can I save / reload to get artifacts to pop up on my planet if I "explore planet" enough times with save / reload trick? Finally, can there be more than one of a
Thanks for the advice, guys. I'm curious, how does the Docking Boom work? Does it apply in a certain radius or does it blanket the whole gravity well like what the Sova Carrier's Embargo + Rapid Manufacturing abilities do? Also, can these Docking Booms stack up? Meaning if I have 4 Docking Booms, will they repair stuff crazy fast, well worth giving up 1 health upgrade?
Hey all. I'm playing a single player map with 5 stars and 150 planets. I'm playing the TEC, and fighting aganist 9 other enemies- 3 TEC, 3 Advent, and 3 Vasari. 4 of those enemies were wiped out already, one by me. I'm situated in a star system with 3 players, me and 2 others. I eliminated the Advent player in my star system, leaving the last enemy which is another TEC. The other enemies are located in the other 4 star systems. The star in my star
I'm a bit hesitant about downloading mods from websites I don't know because they usually try to sneak in viruses, trojans, spyware, or malware.

I just found out. On a hunch, I experiemented with map size, and I dragged it all the way to the left. I saved and then previewed my map. Presto! The stars have the nebulas around them and a galaxy-looking blob around them when viewing from the maximum zoomed out level. I know about the clouds- the nebula-like color background, that wasn't what I was missing. It was the white blob around the star when viewed from a distance. Although I appreciate
Hey all. I just tweaked and made a custom map with the in-game map builder. I made a map with 5 stars and 150 planets, with 10 factions. So far, everything looks good. Then when I save that map and fire it up through a New Game, I noticed something missing when I zoomed out to view the whole map. The star clouds aren't there at all. The clouds that look like a galaxy around the star- it looks really nice. I loaded up a regular map (a default huge
Basically, a simple raise in caps- a doubling of the cap granted per every research. So instead of +1 caps for one research, I'd like +2 caps, or +400 supply instead of +200, and so on. No changes whatsoever to the fleet maintainence- I want to keep it as is, like 75% at the end. About the cap ships themselves, any simple mods that doubles their stats across the board? Double hull, shield, weapons, antimatter, etc? Also, is there a mod that raises the limit of starbases
Hey all. I was wondering if there's any mods out there that just raise the caps on cap ships from 16 to 32 or so, and fleet supply from 2000 to 4000? Or slightly higher values than these? I know there are a couple of those mods out there but I'm not sure if they're compatible with Diplo 1.01 (the version I bought and downloaded yesterday). Also, is there any mods that increase the potency of cap ships to counter those mega powerful pirate ships in
Hey all. I know how to open the user configuration file and the SaveGameFormat = 0 trick. I'm looking to optimize my galaxy at start-up by changing around a few planets, wormholes, and such. Instead of a crappy galaxy, I'd like to make galaxies much more specialized. Here's a few things I'd like to know what and how to change. 1. How do I find, mod, and tweak wormholes? I can find the planet name and "Wormhole" a few pages a
Hey all. I bought and downloaded the Diplomacy + Entrapment expansions, and I need your help with something. I want to modify the files so that the pirates will be manageable. Pirates buy 2 upgrades before each raid, each of the following upgrades has 20 ranks: Armor: +2 armor. HP: +20% hp. Regeneration: +45% hp regen. Weapon damage: +20% damage, +5% range. Weapon cooldown: -7% autocannon/laser cooldown. <
Doesn't interstellar empires have powerful computers onboard their ships that can coordinate the exact amount of thrust to turn more effectively, plus keep the fleet in formation during the turn instead of splitting up?
I meant is the GOTY version I bought last Friday the most up-to-date version of vanilla? Meaning its version 1.19 out of the box? I was also wondering if I buy Entrenchment and Diplo, then play only Entrenchment. Then transfer my Entrenchment save games into Diplo when the super-powered pirate issue is fixed? Or will I have to create a whole new save game when I stop playing Entrenchment and start Diplo? Just wondering if I have to wait a while be
How and where did you get this data, and is it moddable at all? For example make it so that... Armor: +0.5 armor. HP: +10% hp. Regeneration: +5% hp regen. Weapon damage: +2.5% damage, +1% range. Weapon cooldown: -1% autocannon/laser cooldown. Or reduce the ranks from 20 to 5? Or something like that?
I have the GOTY edition. Is it the most up-to-date patched version?
Hey all. I was wondering if I buy the Entrenchment and Diplomacy upgrades, will my saved games in vanilla be able to be played in the expansions with the expansion content, or will I have to start an entirely new game to take advantage of the new content? I'm just wondering because I have a nice game going in Vanilla, and I'd hate to lose that if I buy and download the expansions online then find out I can't build starbases or minefields in my vanilla saved game. <
Thanks for the tips, guys. I'll stick with the in-game 5 star map with 100 planets, or make a custom map with 5 - 10 stars and 100 - 150 planets then. I saw the GOTY edition at Best Buy this past Friday and saw Stardock on it, so thats why I bought it because I know Stardock makes high quality games, and is a great company that does a lot of stuff like patches, player feedback, etc. that other comapnies (cough, cough, EA) doesn't. I only had to pa
Thanks. In my first game (huge "multi" map with 5 stars and 102 planets), I just explored my neighborhood. My homeworld has 3 jump lanes and they connect to an asteroid field, an ice planet, and a terran planet. There's like 10 enemy ships at those locations but don't belong to any of the 9 main enemy empires. In regards to the map editor, is it theoretically possible to have like 20 stars and 500 planets? In other words, no limitations whatsoever
Hey all. I just bought the Game of the Year edition of Sins yesterday and I'm just experimenting with it and learning how to play it. I have a few questions I'd like to ask. 1. Is there any huge epic maps? The biggest I can find in-game is the Huge multi map with 5 stars and 102 planets. Did anyone custom make a map out there that is even bigger? What's the maximum size? 10 stars and 200 planets? I love truly epic games where I can play for weeks
