Hmm I was unsure if this would be listed as a performance bug, I have sent the mail. Sadly no (mini)dump. There is no actual crash either, the game "runs" in the background.

Black screen in Sins Rebellion Sins Forums

When I start up Rebellion I get a black screen and I do get sound. I can skip the intro with escape and I get the menu music. When I alt-tab I see 1/4th of the screen and when I create a screenshot I see all of the screen. I can't even press anything on button to navigate. I have the latest drivers for my vid card. Specs: 2.0 GHz i7 Quad Core 8GB RAM Nvidia GeForce GR 555M (2GB). What can it be?</

It was mainly Media Player Classic playing a HD film at that moment. I've reinstalled DeskScapes again and I think I know what the problem is. It seems it's the MPEG-2 codec which doesn't do it's work well. When I use a slideshow or hybrid it works perfectly but at the moment MPEG-2 makes explorer.exe go to 20-40%CPU.
