DNUTN, I have had that issue. One thing I noted is that it tended to be Java based applications (like IntelliJ IDE or JEdit). I also noticed that in the default setup from SD they have exclusions for java and javaw executables so I'm wondering if this is a known problem. Anyway I added my Java based development tools and apps to the exclusion list and I've not noticed other apps disappearing (yet). Hope this helps ...<b

Any news on the update? I can't stand living without my SVD. That darned shareware warning keeps it from working at all. Vince
Ah very good question. Yeah I'd like IconX and SVD running and still see my custom backgrounds. Vince
Oh and ... I guess I'll just have to write it in C++. Vince
Yeah that will launch the folder. I guess I'm stuck not doing it. What I want to do is control the folder that a DX object pops up as a pop-up menu. The only way would be accessing the object's internal stuff like shortcut folder and such. None of the doc has those internals (and they may not even be exposed in the public interface). Oh well. It was a fun idea. Thanks for the help. It is appreciated. Vince
Hey Jeff ... I'm sure you are sick of the obvious by now but just to let you know the patch worked for me. Thanks so much. Vince
Thanks. Yeah I have all the code to handle preferences. I just can't figure out how to set the folder for my object's shortcut (it's a shortcut object that people can config with image and text and folder location). So I can get the pref back out just fine but the doc didn't help on then to take that and set the object's shortcut folder from that variable. Thanks again, Vince
Oh and I did setup the preferences so they show up in the exported object's preference dialog (which is WAY cool BTW) and I know they are getting set correctly but how to apply them like you would Object.Text is the question. Oh and does anyone know how to access those preferences when running under DX like it does on the exported widget? Vince </
I've read a few threads on here about documentation being light. I've read the new 3.1 doc and still it just doesn't go into much depth. Somewhere there must be something deeper. Take for instance Object.Command ... here's what the latest doc says: Object.Command and Object.CommandParameters Gets/sets the object command and parameters for Shortcut and URL object types. OK. That's nice. Now what? So I have the need,
Just to extend what I said before to help. I add a desktop and it does show up in the config dialog. I can change all of the desktop images and such and they look fine in the dialog box. When I apply though you only get three no matter how many you add. I can see if flash in my taskbar and show four or five (whatever I chose) but then 3 come back. Images stay OK for the three that stick but after a re-boot the original images with
Yes I did a full un-install. I re-booted and removed the key. I could see that it was not there and that the SVD was no longer installed. I did another re-boot (just for fun) and still it was not there and the key was still gone. I re-installed the latest and when I went to change things (add another desktop, change images) it would never keep them. I even tried editing the registry by hand to no avail. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/w
That did not work for me. I still have the problem and it is quite irritating as the previous one had all the features too but worked. I even edited the registry by hand with it shut down and then re-started it and it wiped out my old registry settings for the key shown. Vince
