Quick question for you fine people! I successfully changed up some dialogue files for a titan. Ogg and everything; I'm so proud of me. And yet the sound is only coming through on the left side. The rest of the game is stereo. The actual file is stereo when I play it in VLC. But alas, the new dialogue stays in my left ear when I play it in game. Any advice?

I haven't played VL in multiplayer yet. But I love the idea of sending out a quick strike force to rich planets near the enemy's home before destroying them. While he's scrabbling around looking for good planets, you can gain a nice upper hand colonizing and keeping intact worlds. And I feel like strip-mining an enemy's home world (even if he's already left the game) would be the ultimate middle finger to the opposing team.

You seem to be having the most trouble getting up to the production level of your ally. So to add on to Ryat's points, some recommendations: You have to spend money to make money. Early trade ports can be a heavy investment, but they become incredibly valuable as your upgrade your fleet capacity. I assume you're playing single player, so a good rule of thumb is that your trade ports should be bringing in more than your upgraded fleet is costing you.
That said, I'm surprised Impulse would let you purchase Entrenchment without a valid copy of the vanilla game attached to your account...
Oh, it let me purchase it. But I can't use it.

I purchased Sins 1.00 about two years ago (it was before the Game of the Year edition, at any rate). The original packaging is long gone, and I only have the manual and disc left. I even lost the manual for a month before finding it again. So I went and purchased Entrenchment... without registering first . That was an incredibly stupid thing to do; I realize this. My problem: is there any way to go about registering my copy of Sins so that I can actually play Entrenchm

Sun-tzu's The Art of War has been a must-read for all military commanders for over two and a half thousand years. However, it is not only a practical guide to the running of a military. It can be applied to any sort of conflict, from business to debates... or Sins of a Solar Empire. The Art of War is comprised of 13 sections, each of which deals with a specific aspect of war. Each week (if all goes well), I will be releasing a thread devoted to one of these sections. I will break i
Jesus, why are you playing version 1? That version is ancient, and it sucked.
Well, I got paid yesterday, so I'm probably getting Entrenchment soon. I just haven't bothered to register yet. Since I've only been playing SP so far, I saw no reason to upgrade.

All right, today or tomorrow, I'll be going to a friend's house to play an LAN game of Sins v 1.00. I introduced him to the game last week, and he's been playing constantly. He says he favors Advent, so he'll most likely be playing that. Personally, I'm a tossup between favoring Advent or TEC. I'll probably play TEC, which brings me to my question: What are some good strategies against the Advent by TEC forces? I'm pretty accomplished, SP-wise, but there is a world of difference betwe

Excellent guide, thank you very much. But I'm having a pretty irritating and basic problem: my new maps refuse to show up in the game. I put the files where they should go, but the game won't even acknowledge their existence. I have a Vista, and SoaSE is in the Program Filesx86 folder. Any advice?

Yesterday in single player, I was defending a planet with a Novalith Cannon from an enemy assault. One thought that crossed my mind was, "Thank goodness they can't capture this thing." Which got me thinking. Instead of being forced to destroy everything in sight, why not simply capture them? It seems fairly wasteful, for instance, to have to destroy resource extractors; only to rebuild them. Even if they were initially constructed by different races, this doesn't seem to reall
