All testing in this regard is pointless as health bars are not true show and tell how much health is left and how much damage is left in whole fleet squadrons as number of strike craft vary therefore 1 killed bomber on vasari will make heavier dent in total health and dmg loss than advent. I do wonder what is the rate of the build of sc vary between races or 1 bomber (not squadron) takes same time to be build in vasari and advent..... You could see where I am going....
Advent loyal late game with decent lvl titan and few lvl 4 capitals is almost unstoppable to everything but vasari bomber spam with phase missiles fully researched. Problem is not really bombers but engine and his management of fighters which are supposed to counter bombers. I don't know how code is written but it seems that half of the time fighters are just flying and not shooting at anything. Either target selection is coded poorly or lag causes some fighter related calculation

Only problem advent have is kosutra jump and phase missiles on bombers. Change from phase missiles to whatever vasari HC are using and it will be fine EDIT: and fyi me as advent loyal was able to win against 2 VR lvl 10 titans with carrier spamm. True they were on defensive whole game and had no kosutra but they had phase inhibitors everywhere and one of them was spamming star bases .... I won by spamming love cannons .... 3 can win youn game easily if

Once planet was discovered look at resource extractor colour. This way you can monitor in which direction and how fast enemy is expanding without scouting. You cannot rely on "front-line scouting" in this way as most skilled use this trick and they build factories or defences before they build extractors so they do not give themselves out.

Couldn't you make those upgrades as passive abilities on cap ships transformed into SB s that cost resources? Instead of lvl 4 purchase ability you could make 10 or 100 if that isn't hard coded as well?
Why cant you just replace normal ships with starbases models and accompanied stats descriptions etc and set their fleet supply to ..... And make everything else not available to build.....

There is a way to kill Vorastra. Drain it of AM but that means your drain am ships need to survive long enough.....
I have I7 with base of 2.7GHz OC to 4 GHz. I do have custom water cooling loop on it. With 100% load (prime torture test) temp reaching about 61 degrees Celsius. This OC enable me to play smooth games until about 1h into the game on huge random maps with 1 player and 9 vicious all settings faster. Keep in mind vicious max their fleet (2000 fleet supply) 20 min into the game. Not sure what actual game time is because I change game speed as needed....
You can try to OC your processor as GHz on single core are best remedy for late game lag. As for devs optimizing it Yes they did a good job with last patch for diplo but then they added more content with Rebelion and improved graphic so that set them back to same square before that update
