Well I just found the old pink poofs. I was playing the star wars galaxy map and they were on mon calamari, so i guess it is just a random achievement. Although you do need to fully explore the planet to find them .
I like to go with one capital ship at the start, I play the Colonials, usually the Galactica, although I have tried the Mercury and the Sentrus recently and level it up to at least 6 or 7. I go for all of the weapon and the health upgrades, getting the most health for each Battlestar to counter the cylons ability to pump out about 4 or 5 basestars in the first 5 minutes.
