That's exactly what I do but it takes forever for some reason... I think maybe I'm just taking too long to kill of the militia ships before moving to the next planet. Its like the only thing that really damages the enemy is Egg's nano-disassembler, and I have a hard time getting a decent number of assailents out there because I spend so much on the ice tech and assailent tech.

So how fast is it possible to colonize 4 or 5 planets? It seems like its taking me a lot longer than it should- like 25 or 30 mins...
It sounds like I should be expanding faster than I am. I have only been using the cap ship to clear/colonize planets- should I send the capship to one planet and use a few frigs and a colony ship to others at the same time? Thanks for all the help.
I've been playing on Cynosian Rift as Vasari vs a random hard AI (not entrenchment, pirates off). I cant seem to get an upper hand on the opponent and every battle is a draw that destroys the better part of both our fleets. Here's a breakdown of what I do: When the game starts I upgrade my home planet, build a capship factory, and build extractors and a few scouts. When my Evacuator comes out I go and take the asteroid and develop it. Next I move on to the Ice planet next to
Here are the general tips I go by (I don't have entrenchment either): 1. Take a colonizing capital ship to start (Akkan, Progenitor, Evacuator). 2. Expand to as many neutral planets as possible as fast as you can. Don't forget to invest in planetary infrastructure to keep your planets from costing you money instead of making you money. 3. Work on your fleet after getting the early economic upper hand from expanding- Long-range Frigates should probably make up the major
thanks guys for the impulse info
maybe this is a stupid question, but how do you get v1.18? I only have the original and only have updated to v1.05 and thats the highest i've found... where did you get that update?
So, you start the game an take the nearby asteroid... where to next? You can easily clear ice and volcanic worlds but you can't colonize them without 2 civic labs and their repsective techs. You can colonize desert and terran worlds but they can be difficult to clear without LRFs and the 1-3 military labs and the tech research required to produce them (race dependent, of course). When I go for the LRFs I find it hard to scrape together the funds to get the tech and build the actual sh
