Game goes from normal speeds to slow in Technical Sins Forums

Hi everyone, I have been playing this game for quite awhile. I have always noticed my framerate dropping gradually throughout the game. For example, when I start a new game, my framerate is very smooth and there is no lag. I can increase game speed to x2, x4, x6, etc. without any lag. However, during mid-game, the framerate will start to drop and I cannot continue using the x4 game speed as it will get very laggy, forcing me to use x2 game speed.
