#74 by Scribe Fuzzy Logic - 2/24/2004 12:59:02 PM Haven't figured out how to overclock it yet. The overclock tab on nvidia drivers has been missing for some time There are MANY damaged BFG 5900s coming from GameVE. Attempting to flash it to a 5950Ultra, the card was killed then RMA'd. GameVE has been selling customer returns as new p

as for the 9800 pro... if you can get me one that costs less than $200, i still wont get it because i dont need a top of the line card. p . The difference between a 9600XT and a 9800Pro is huge. You could also flash a 9800np to a 9800Pro. But I wouldn't suggest that. [Message Edited]

Well I emailed you about that fan controller and its 3pin connectors. Keep in mind new Bartons, Thoroughbreds and Durons are factory multiplier locked-you can only change the FSB. [Message Edited]

#16 by Citizen Hy_Rolr - 2/21/2004 2:24:59 PM I agreeAnd also offer up another possible alternative instead of a title.Maybe just a small graphic to one side or the other of their "nick" I like this idea better than a separate title. Maybe the Wincustomize Chameleon before or after the username.

No problem. I use Arctic Ceramique Thermal Compound. I have had a 6 to 10 degree drop. The stock thermal pad is easy to remove and this application is simple. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=35-100-009&depa=0 http://www.arcticsilver.com/ceramique.htm http://www.arcticsilver.com/ceramique_instructions.htm [Message Edited]

Hmmm, how much you lookin to spend on you video card? You might consider an XFX 5700 Ultra 475/900 at $169 compared to 350/700 on the 5600 Ultra. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-150-047&catalog=48&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1 Or a MSI 5900 non Ultra 400/700 with a 256 bit bus (way better performance with AA and AF over the 5700 Ultra) at $185 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-127-119&catalog=48&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1 [Me

Well, the 5600Ultra has a higher memory clock (will differ though and same core clock speed) over the 9600Pro. There is no clear cut winner. I will say this with ATI--better DirectX9 performance for most next-gen games using Pixel Shader 2.0 and better FSAA and anisotropic performance. Also consider the 9600XT.

by BoXXi - 2/15/2004 2:08:17 PM but when I got it home this is what happened: connected everything up What do you mean by this? Did you just plug the monitor in and PS cable then fire it up? Or did you reconnect anything inside the case? No new hardware added? Usually, like yrag mentioned, the memory is the cause. Have you heard any B

Hmmm, well when focusing on gaming, I stress to stay away from the SE like Halluci said. I wouldn't look at the non-pro or 5200FX either...bottlenecks. At least a 9600Pro--you mentioned the XT in your other thread. Great card. You can get a 2600+ "Barton" (retail) for $105.00 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-418&catalog=343&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1 or a 2800+ "Barton" (retail) for $144.00 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?d
