Wow this will be interesting. Good luck to all. I was registered here during the first one but never got into it. I will indeed be looking forward to this. Question: when do the public get a view of the submissions? Immediately? I didn't see that up there.

Welcome back. I thought you didn't move too far away. That same provider isn't available there? Maybe I heard wrong.

Anytime I order online, I order from Newegg. Very reliable and great prices. AMD is better bang for your buck (2800+ T-Bred in my main rig). I also have a 9600XT but not Sapphire. $150 is nice but for about $224 you can get a 9800Pro; you plan on doing a lot of gaming? Don't skimp on Ram, get some nice Corsair PC3200 at the least. Although Windowblinds and DesktopX may rely heavily on your video card, ObjectDock does not. ObjectDock relies more on raw cpu power. Close everything you have running helamanthornton, even ObjectDock then reload only OD and see what happens.

First, ObjectDock is not meant to replace the taskbar. For that you would look into ObjectBar. Second, how long have you had it installed and has this been happening since right after the installation? Do you have the lastest version, 1.0-- https://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/ Also post you pc specs and OS.

Care to explain the issues with ObjectDock a bit more so we can help troubleshoot it? The only trouble I really had with OD is the weather docklet suckin up a lot of resources. But I have since go rid of it. Never tried YzDock.

Nope, not possible. I heard you could have two with two different versions of OD--but whoever did it didn't have pretty results. Of course, you could use ObjectDock and YzDock, but I have no experience doing that. I'm not sure if YzDock will let you have more than one dock and I believe it isn't supported anymore.

Going through all the variables here, have you ever reinstalled XP one or multiple times before this incident without a hitch? If you try what Essencay and IPlural suggested, and the hard drive is fine but this other cd won't work, swap you cdrom and see how that goes. Good luck.

#25 by papidon - 2/2/2004 12:07:26 PM I have just spend a BIG part of my weekend trying to get that thing running, to no avail. What's happening is that when I try to reload XP, it will go through the setup routine just fine, the problem begins when it starts to load in the system files. It'll copy some files but not others. Just as a test I tried loading Win 95 and it

Perfect. Thank you. I see that he does a lot of rainy's. I can't seem to access the ObjectDock section at DA (or any other gallery for that matter), do you know of an Alien Mind ObjectDock background?

3 Replies 2,692 Views

Right click desktop > arrange icons by > then click where it says 'show desktop icons'. Do it again for the icon to reappear. Create a new shortcut in ObjectDock. Right click the new shortcut > dock item properties. Copy and paste this in the link box- C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe Change the title to whatever you want and you're done. I had a power supply blow up. And when I say blow up I mean a loud bang followed with flames coming out the back like a hot rod. The tower was real close to the bed and it happened when I turned the pc on. Had I not been there my room would of caught on fire. Weird thing is there was no other hardware damage. Took a few days to get the smell out. I still have it, you really gotta see the aftermath inside. Papidon, can you elaborate some with the XP installation? Any error message

Nothing changes. I just think one who helps support the site should have a bit bigger voice than one who just registers here. One who supports this site I think wouldn't be too likely to drop ratings on purpose, as that's the main problem. How accurate that is I don't know. [Message Edited]

Hmmm, I think a subscriber (user lvl 4) should have a little more pull. We do help support the site and we should have a bigger voice if you know what I mean--higher than a registered citizen but lower than an apprentice. Are many 'griefers' subscribers? The new system sounds good.
