I'm using sggalaxy, stars and bailknights graphic mod - each of them alone and in the latest version. Gameversion has been Dip 1.01 and since yesterday 1.011, both versions have the above mentioned problem.I'm not sure if there is a difference between retail and digital download, so for what its worth: i'm using a steam version. I don't have much time right

Yes, it doesn't matter which mods or how many i enable.

Since then i can start Sins or Entrenchment just fine, but starting diplomacy (i got the pre-release bundle -> sins + entrenchment + diplomacy-beta) results in a black screen right before the intro-videos are loading,
