Yeah, i know i'm retarded.....skyboxes were kind of obvious.
Jihad110
Yeah thats what i tend to do, but its the retarded AI that does everything in its power to prevent the game from running smoothly, tactical defences everywhere, bloody spacemines galore....not to mention the vast amount of SC they do love to build light carriers! As for the extent of slowdown in an intense battle it would go down to 9FPS normally about 25-30 but it kept sticking, it can't have been 30 fps. Anyway that was on a 4v4 on a 67 planet map with everything on very high with planet el
Thankyou, goodnight much love, i'm going to bed its 20:20 over here and i have a Uni lecture tommorow [e digicons][/e]
Sweet, thanks for the tips are you guys going to incorporate the reduced SC and trade ship minimod? Does removing the planet elevators make that big a difference? One last question, how can you remove trade ship icons?
Sweet, i was getting the imression that everyone was playing the game perfectly on full graphics and i was getting problems for some reason. Thank you all, you'e all been a great help and i can't wait untill the update gets released. On another note, what have you guys found to be the threshhold on full for you personally?
For some reason if you start a game at high/very high the game keeps them in memory for that entire game.
Which is why i dondn't notice a differnece when i lowered the graphics mid whay through. I thought that graphic qualities are dependant on GPU, mine is more than capable of dealing with these sort of graphics. I wouldn't really want to compromise on graphics so 3v3 on about 40 planet map is about the maximum then?
Errm well bloom is disabled all qualities are set to very high, no AA. But i have tried turning details down and it doen't make any differnece. So all these big maps that you guys play, do you play them with few AI? I switched to the Star trek mod today and even though its soooooo obvious i finally realised that the game runs so smoothly because all the effects consist of lines and little red torpedoes, all explosion effects are kept relatively normal and there are FAR less strike craft as th
According to Harpo's research the speed of your RAM plays a big factor in performance. Personally, I drop in frame rates 4 or 5 hours into a game but never to the point where it's unplayable, and I have no issues running any map with the maximum amount of players on my desktop, my laptop however is a different story but it's a few years older and a much less capable system, so it really is a system specific issue....
Well i
Well i have 4GB of DDR3 RAM at 1300MHz, now as far as i'm aware this is good enough to play more or less any PC game, i've never had issues. However with sins especially with DS mod i get FPS drop about 1.5 hours into a 4v4 67 planet game and its PISSING ME OFF!! What kind of jesus RAM do you have to play well for like 4-5 hours on much larger maps?
Didn't see your latest post, much appreciated [e digicons][/e]
Yeah fair enough, i just tried to play a 4v4 on 'into the breach' and i started to get properly unplayable fps about an hour and a half in. I tried all the usual suggestions like not building mines and un pinning planets from the empire tree but could you guys give me any suggestions? How do you play sins with DS mod and still get a decent gaming experience, i.e what maps, how many players e.t.c. Its just that i find that the DS mod for whatever reason creates more fps drop than normal.
Yeah i know, i've read the forum topics, i just wnted to chip in my vote too [e digicons][/e]
OK thanks [e digicons]:)[/e] Its just that the DS mod is exactly what i want, i mean i was using the TSOP mod and yes the game ran better than before but it made sins shit, research takes LONG and income is slow as hell. So yeah, its either boring sins or screenshot speed sins [e digicons][/e]
I think you summed up the Sins problem quite well [e digicons][/e] If there was an update to take advantage of multicore processors i think it would greatly improve the situation.
Sorry to sound like a noob but whats TSOP? I'm quite used to modding sins but i'm not familiar with all the abreviations. Anyway i know what you mean, i play crysis perfectly and then i switch to sins and its just like epic fail.
So yeah nit to put a damper on all the asteroid death but have you guys set a rough release date for the new version release date or not? The only reason i ask is because love the mod but i'm getting too much fps drop late in game on implosion (67 planet map) with 4v4 i got down the 14 fps at some point! Thats never hapened to me before on that map and its not due to my pc specs, anything you guys could recommend?
Yeah i've already spoken to them, they said they are incorporating it. Onlt thing is that with the DS mod games maps that i could play before well now give me fps drop in late game stages, i.e 4v4 on implosion. For example both in vanilla entrenchment and with other mods like the star trek mod, game on implosion work well. I don't know i like the DS mod but it looks like it lowers the fpr threshhold even more, i was hoping that because my computer has really good specs that i would be able to
Well thats what i did but there were graphical glitches, not just that but in the description of the optimisation mod they specify to NOT stack with other mods as it will cause said glitches. What mods do you stack to get improved performance and still have an interesting game to play? Presumably no side effect.
Id play that [e digicons][/e]
I was playing a game on sector aurelia (or something to that effect) a large map with only 67 or so planets 4v4 but about 2 hours into the game i started to get lag which is strange as the map is large in the sense that it covers alot of ground due to there being several star systems but there isn't actually that many planets in comparison to other maps. For example on implosion, a map with roughly the same amount of planets, the game runs at a reasonable rate throughout. I'm hesitant to run
Sweet! I don't suppose there a projected release date, its just the problem i have is to pick between a smoother running game or an oustanding mod that i've gotten used to and now vanilla entrenchment looks shit.
Will there be a future update ncorporating some elements of the Sins optimised mod?
Thanks for all your help but i have one more question. have noticed that when playing 4v4 on smaller large maps, i.e 67 planet maps the game runs smoothly throughout the game. My question is what is at roughly what amount of planets does the game lag.
Just tried it, it did little to nothing to help my issue. The problem i have is late game frame rate drop which the mod states that it does little to correct.
Yeah just read through the link, i'll give it a try but i'm already runing the distant stars mod, will this work in conjunction?
