@ J Brown : For harpo's tools, you can get them from a quick search from that little box at the top of the page, just look for "Harpo's Txt binner" but you'll have to look into it being up to date. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/353296 Or click this link and read up on it, and look for the latest version. Who did the gravity wells this time 'round? x.x it's a pain in the ass to maneuver around a sun o

you could make an AOE ability on the strike craft that , when in range, could apply the buff to all in the area and just make that buff be a version of magnetize like stated above. With that all the strike craft should smack into the nearest buffed target and you could make the buff persist at whatever time frame you want it to.
The max number of players is set by the map size, just play a huge map if you want more of them, Whirlwind is a good one.
as far as ships I Don't want to have the fighter movement, SCOUTS for crap sake x.x otherwise you end up needing one scout per mine to clear a minefield -.-; the long range missile frigates/illuminators and the anti-module and siege ship. and please, no capital ships. What's the point of all those weapon banks if their mainly using the forward and left/right peripheral ranges(at the very least, not the support type caps) and that's about all I wanna keep in stationary ship
oh wow, nice one psychoak. i had forgotten about magnetize hull, all you'd really need to do is alter the damage done and make it select friendly strike craft as opposed to enemy craft. Seems like the biggest leaps we have in the modding community happen when someone takes a step back from all the overcomplicated solutions and points out the simplest and more often, best fix x.x
I you hate the "incoming blah blah" NH, you could always locate the sound file(there are a few media players out there that will play them) copy it's name and find something you'd rather hear(a ding or something like when you get a text message, something mild, not irritating) and make a teenie tiny sound mod and there you go. Though the side effect is, you my miss text messages while playing sins....yeah, that got me an ear full later >.> Added: got bored, so he
What about making alternative strike craft(like the advent mines) and have the 'new craft' be something that explodes on creation without requiring a target, like the starbase's self destruct but scaled down immensely. This way the fighters might retain their normal behaviors or just 'deploy entity' with another ability that that explodes like that and depends on an enemy being in range, not an enemy being targeted, this kind of layout seemed to work for the DS team with t
You'd have to start them out with the ability to make them, giving them a free one would do nothing without the tech to deploy a starbase unfortunately =/ Unless you spawned a starbase...but then the ability to place it in a useful position would be shot to hell o.o; you sir, have a conundrum (Or you could set all the starbase related research, such as 'options' tech and unlocking research, to a -50% cost or so, seems like a happy medium with the two option
Maybe fiddling with a few of the ability;s "autocast when" lines might fix this, but it still bugs me that a piddly ass disciple vessel can end up between the heros and the caps on the empire window. I've tried fiddling with their formation (btw for anyone else wondering about formation, it goes from 0 being your front line to 4 being BEHIND your support and other caps, I changed all my anti-module craft to 4, works nice, anyway back to my point) and I changed a few of their icons/meshes
it's almost every jump for me lol. I'm thinking it's because the game isn't recognizing them as "full capital ships" or some other random thing, although looking at the entities they should, bu all counts, be considered capitals so I'm just kinda lost x.x
Hey Goa, any idea why the hero ships don't like to group phase jump with the rest of the fleets, or why the rest of the fleet tend to not wait on them? x.x, I keep having to select them after the bulk of my fleet jumps and set them to solo jump before they'll even try. Also, thought I read somewhere in there that gas giants were colonize-able, but in-game I don't see it =X
Replacing the raider's did it, ty Goa for the quick response(at a crappy am hour) so ty for being up all night lol
ah, good, I can stop rooting through files and get some sleep x.x I have this tiny problem with obsessing over something broken till I know why or how to fix it x.x
For Diplomacy 1.34, i get a minidump each time i try to enable it, and it looks like the galaxy.manifest is missing so all those maps go unregistered by the game. Wondering if I got a bad download but I dled it 4 times =/
Unfortunately, my friend won't play with me any more after I detonated a starbase by his fleet while we were allied, but I will still enjoy it single player when it comes out.
lmao. I've done stuff like that. i've offered to "defend" all my friend's planets with a starbase, i just didn't tell him that I put the meteor upgrade on them, and well...lets just say he lost a lot of planets in a very sho
P.S. I dont like pirates. Just like I dont like Advent. So, in celebration of pirates coming out of the closet, I just murdered 1000's of your kind, In a glorious wave of missiles.
It's ok, I'm retired from all that piracy ;) But don't hate on the advent, they can seriously throw a wrench in your empire if ya leave 'em alone too long :p
I'm with Stant on that one. Recently downloaded Steam and a free game. So far, unless you pay money, you don't even get a friends list or anything beyond the ability to download crap and have it suck ram while your game runs.... given Sin's past with ram I can't really afford the leech. Like Stant, I haven't personally had any kind of issues like that with valve, but I've had a few friends who have lost a lot though them. Main reason I'm using a free game to test t
Hey, I have a quick question about one of the choices in special effects. When the Vazari flagship uses its ult....why is the effect image a black hole?
His long post
Best pro TEC fleet diversity post ever. Personally, I'm more of an Advent player but I fool around with either of the other two occasionally(know thy enemy and such ;p). I'm heavy defensive, usually don't take a planet before I've got a heavy constructor waiting one jump away to make it unable to be lost through bombardment(haha at the Novalith ;p) and then stack up that hp, weapons, and pul
Hey everyone, name's BadTune I've been playing Sins since late 2008, but I'll be honest, I pirated it first. Been a member of the forums since early 2009 when I bought the game though, didn't take me more than a month to know this was a game I'd be playing for a long time. I play mostly SP(mainly because of all the heavy modding that's been crammed in there ;p) I'm one of those Advent players, but I'm not as "bomber-spammy" as that sounds. I lov
I blame the government, you can usually trace it back to them anyway. ok, reason I'm posting. Why does the vasari flagship's ult need to use a BLACK HOLE as its animation and not just a single wave across the gravity well? it would save a lot on processing than that constantly moving PLANET effect, like the enforcer's distort animation, or something like that would work, could even get crazy and use the pirate's self destruct sfx, recolor it green or something,
*hacks steam core server, removes one line of code.....entire system crashes* yaaay I'm a hero!

To help reduce lag a little bit, completely un-pin all items from your Empire Tree (on the left hand side of the screen) and set all graphics settings to Low.
you can also look this over again boshimi <a href="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.c
Good Idea: asking about progress on a mod you like, or are interested in. Bad Idea: going into a modding forum and pissing on what modders do(seems obvious right?) What might happen: Finished mods get uploaded to where you can't access them(I'd do it, at least for a while =P) How to fix this: Quit forums / apologize / Do it yourself / Grow up / Stop being a douche(or make an attempt at this one
