Ahh..I see one thing I didn't do right: When I downloaded your mod tools I for some reason ended up with only the text binner. I went back and re-downloaded your tools and now i have the manifest builder, stringer, etc. Thank you very much for the information. I hope to be doing a lot of modding in the near future!

I was not even aware of that step. Is there somewhere that I can read all the steps required to implement new entities? I assume the manifest must be in some specific format so it would be nice to know where I can find all of this information. The search here and plain internet searches just aren't yielding what I need to know.
I am trying to create a brand new ability for a star base that is based on the pirate's flak burst ability (though I plan to adjust it to match each faction's style at some point). I am using the bin-to-text converter that I found here on the forum. That said, I have been able to modify existing items without issue. What I am unable to do is add anything new. I have no idea what I am doing incorrectly and I am having difficulties finding a solution via forum search. &n
Well. I tried removing the teams (putting them all to -1) and my map seems to have been corrupted. It now causes a minidump every time I load it.
No. I only set players up as members of teams. I set player0 on team 0 and the others on team 1. This somehow forced me to become player1. When I changed the teams to show that player1 was on team 0 and the others were on team 1 it put me back on as player0. It seems to want me to be in a team with the other computers. I'm not entirely sure why.
I'm not following that. I -did- set them as teams. So, I set player0 to team 0 and players 1-3 as team 1. It auto-placed me as player1 so that I'd be in the team. For some reason when I switch the teams back (so that player 1 is -not- in the team) it puts me back as player 0 and, of course, on the team with the others. I am not sure -why- it does it, but at least I know what put me as player1.
Ok, so I created a three vs one map in the Forge. I turned random starting positions off and assigned home planets. So from what I have read in the forums thus far I should be starting as player0 every single time...but when I go to create a new game with the map it puts a CPU in player 0 and me in player 1. What I mean by this is that when I create the game I see a computer listed as the top player, myself as the second, and two other computers as the third and fourth -before-
