One of the things that I found highly unrealistic about Rebellion was the exclusion of a morale system. Kind of like in rome total war where if a unit is outnumbered or facing heavy losses it becomes steadily more ineffective in combat. If it progresses far enough that unit eventually ends up "routing" where it flees from the battlefield until the morale goes back up to a "safe" level again. Several months ago, I made a post where I claimed colony pods were the worst form of investment in the game, with an abysmal ROI. At present, the multiplayer in vanilla is horribly balanced. That is why I migrated to the Star Wars mod produced by none other than the Goafan. He is known for his legendary balance work and is considered one of the foremost intellectuals in the MP community.
