Pretty cool [e digicons]:erk:[/e] You'll have to try all those fantastic mods. Did you know of www.moddb.com ? Great site [e digicons][/e] If you search for Freelancer, then go in mod section, you'll find all you need, there's a lot of mods out there, either total conversion or just as you search expending the universe. Crossfire is the only one I pretty much liked and they retouched the graphics which is really ni

Argh, the controls are enough to tell me don't even test it ! I don't have a joystick and I play on a laptop so even basic strategy games like SC2 can become really annoying sometimes (especially with the middle mouse feature on the side of the touchpad or the double tap feature = click) I was expecting something more like freelancer (but again, even if I play freelancer, I'll need to buy a mouse) I liked the easy controls of freelancer. Also, I tried X: Re

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had ever played Evochron? Being a fan of freelancer and seeing that you can actually travel in planets and all, it got my attention ! It seems pretty awesome but I read some good and bad critics that makes me hesitate a lot ! Did anyone try it?
The AI... doesn't respond to mine fields. It will happily plow through a field of mines if that is the shortest path to its target. Usually you sidestep this with a series of shift commands. I.e. "move here first, stupid, then turn and bomb the planet." Enabling a fleet while in that gravity well and assigning a series of orders to the flagship will ensure that all over ships don't have much opportunity to meander about a

That's pretty interesting , I didn't know the scripting of ships was so well made. Looks like it's made pretty well with some exception as you mentioned (that Ryat denied). I play SOASE sins (joke) it's out and I still learn a lot about it [e digicons][/e] Definitely the most amazing Strategy game around. And about mines? Would it run throuh them to deploy the platform as soon as th

Hey, Thanks Ryat and Tiberius, this clarify a lot of things... So, from what I can understand, that auto-cast "bug" is fixed then? Except for the desolator which still will need micro-management of the platform. So if the ennemy planet has a huge defense with turrets, mines, etc... and the desolator has the platform on auto-cast, and your fleet is still at the border of the gravity well, will it just run through the mine field and everything automaticallly to
Quoting Souls-Stream, reply 33 So you mean the ship move halfway through the gravity well before deploying it's platform? *argh* With or without Pinpoint Bombardment the Desolator will indeed move toward the planet to deploy the siege platform. So the best case is to toggle the auto-cast on or off based on the situation. With the buff to Phase Missile Swarm and the like, you m

So you mean the ship move halfway through the gravity well before deploying it's platform? [e digicons]8C[/e] *argh* Couldn't test yet, hard to find time but I'll try this weekend hopefully (if my wife doesn't get mad at me for playing for hours [e digicons]:-"[/e] lol)

I also love the fact that the AI doesn't spam us anymore with missions and is using more diplomacy. @Qu4r: I'm pretty sure a lot of those fixes will help ballance MP as well from what I can read so you shouldn't worry too much I don't think in MP anybody like under or overpowered units/tec

one word : A-W-E-S-O-M-E !!!!! I don't know about the other updates but the pirates being totally changed rocks !!!! I think they were really annoying before especially in the begining of game when you were attacked by a massive fleet when you get only your second planet and your fleet is not very strong... Now, it will progressive ! YEAAAAAH !!!! And the pirates seems like at last, they will be usefull in the later game and be more of a threat ! I always wonde

Arrgh =( Sad ! It would have been so much funnier and end the cycle of I take you take that planet for hours on gigantic maps. Well, Thanks anyway [e digicons][/e]

At first I thought all those powerful weapons you can build would be able to destroy completely a planet but no [e digicons]:'([/e] So the engine couldn't animate the destruction of a planet into asteroids and asteroids into nothing ? Really? Wouldn't it be possible if we treated a planet like a ship with a health bar.

Hi all, I've been playing Sins of a Solar Empire since it's very early begining and I've always find this game being best Strategy game of all time ! Now, there's only one thing that I've always wanted to see in this great game and it is the destruction of planets. It could quicken some interminable games too. My question is, will it be in Rebellion? Is there a chance to see that feature maybe even as an option, to have a possibility to completely wipe a planet
