Ding ding ding!! This was definitely it then. Thanks all!!

Hmm... I'm not sure what this was then. I was playing advent and I had two or three hanger defenses out there and I had put the mine-laying planes on autocast. I was experimenting with the mines. Could that be it? The other thing is that I did not have all of my planets fully upgraded. So if that takes money in chunks that could be it. I was using the Advent progenitor to colonize worlds and then buying a lot of upgrade
I'm playing entrenchement and I'm pretty new. I'm playing a Vasari computer opponent and am having a problem: my money is disappearing. We're entering the middle game... all planets have been colonized... and I am wanting to build some trade ports. I've researched the tech and have been saving up to start building the trade ports. For the past 10 minutes in the game I cannot get any credits... my credits will rise to about 500 and the
Thanks, Lead head. :) Resolving the problem. Now I'll get to find out what a starbase is.
All of the guides say that a single colony ship can start a colony on an asteroid and that if you build a weapons platform in space it will kill the bombarding ship and the asteroid colony will survive. I've tried this 3 times now and have lost the asteroid every time. It's not even close. The asteroid colony is dead long before the Krosov planet bombarding ship is dead. This last time I had a scout and the colony ship shooting the krosov the whole time
Aha! Expansions... ok will look into that. For now I'll just try to stem my near constant pattern of losses to the computer with some of the tactics I've read here. (I've won one time.) Thanks! - Gherbod
New player. Came to the forums to learn some strategy. What is the "Starbase" and "Starbase Constructor" everyone is talking about on the forums? I can't find this in the game. Thanks, Gherbod
