I too want to support the idea that the Advent need more defining. I must say I was disappointed to see that a lot of the new techs are not very noticeable in terms of impact on the game and in terms of distinguishing one faction from another. My expectations were higher after having seen what happened to the TEC. I strongly feel that this can be achieved by emphasizing traditional Advent strengths- other than just culture. Agreed. I was surprised this is not the case. In Trinity, when I teamed up with a buddy, we always made sure we played a different race, so we could double the pacts between us, compared to an alliance of the same races. This should be (at least partially) the case for factions of the same race.

Thanks for the clarifications, guys. I played another round today, and have some additional feedback: RESEARCH: - Didn't see any stat changes or buffs from Savage Thrill (was bombing enemy planet) - The research "Battlefield promotions" does not apply to the Titan? (Not included in description) - TEC Loyalists have too few benefits in the early game. Suggestion: make "Hardened Defences" (or other loyalist research) available

RESEARCH: - The description for the "Pillaged War Chest ability" is very unclear and should be modified. - "Truce amongst rogues" apparently stops the Pirates from attacking you. I had no idea. (When a new raid was immanent, I found myself wondering why my opponent was wanted while I had more bounty on my head!) I know this is a detail, but I'd like my ships to not automatically attack and blow up enemy envoys. Leaving an envoy alive in your gravity well allows you to benefit from its abilities. You can still choose whether or not to ignore your enemy's diplomatic efforts, and personally, I don't care about the planet vision you grant them. I can imagine some people would, so I propose a behaviour setting, just like you can set the engagement rate.
