I tried modifying some particles and I replaced the old ones with the new ones but they don't show up, do you have any ideas why. (also don't worry, I backed up the originals, but I would definitely feel stupid if S0aSE managed to find them somehow)

I took it of the archive I think but I don't know if I put it in the SoaSE root directory, is that just where I installed sins?
i have both 2.0 and 3.5
I have windows 7 and when i start particle forge it immediately says it has stopped working, supposedly windows 7 comes with .net 2.0 and the download from microsoft wont run on my computer because it is 64 bit,can anyone help me?

The title says it all, I don't know how to mod at all and I would like to start messing around with it. My main question is what do I need to start modding, but after that other tips would be nice too.
