Thanks for the response. After disabling random player positions I also found I had to move all the map files into the 'galaxy forge' folder. Took me a while to figure that out.

The only thing available to game hosts are to increase the research, ship, culture spread, etc speeds. But no option like in single player to 2x or 4x the game speed.
