Personally, I think that smurfing is just a way to avoid the fact that everyone loses from time to time. It's a fact of gaming. Maybe you're stressed, or you're having a bad day, or you got a bad starting position. Or maybe you're just playing someone who's better than you are. Sometimes, stuff happens. And people should learn to deal with it, instead of making up fake or alternate accounts to help themselves feel happy about their win/loss ratio in a virtual game.

The entire point of any ai level above hard is that it's allowed to cheat to a certain degree. The ai can only get so smart, so they have to be allowed to cheat to some degree. Plus I think it makes the game more entertaining (and more interesting) to deal with the computer equivalent of a hacker.

Bidding wars can also come and bite you in the backside, since if you happen to lose a bidding war and the pirates come after you (after several earlier bidding wars) you're now facing some incredibly souped up pirate raid. The raid may not in and of itself be actually threatening, but at the very least a nuisance and a distraction from your campaign against the other players. Depending on the planet and how recently you colonized it, you might have inadequate defenses and have to send ba

True. I suppose that to get a large enough number of people to have a decent pro scene we would need to have more players. The problem is that Sins isn't as widely advertised as other PC games such as WoW or SC2. I myself heard about this game through word of mouth from a friend. We would need some sort of promotion campaign or a lot of word of mouth to get enough players.

So I've been wandering around the forum lately and I've noticed a bit of chat about the lack of a pro scene for Sins. People are somewhat divided on the issue, but the idea that Sins cannot have a pro scene due to multiplayer game length and unbalanced maps seems to be gaining a certain amount of traction. I just thought that I'd take a look at the possibility of creating a Sins pro scene, how such a thing might be possible, and any ideas people may have for creating such a scene.

Reply to Titan in Sins Rebellion

I think it sounds like a good idea. The bit about the new crew having to learn its way around the ship sees realistic. Also, this would make people think twice about throwing their titan around, losing it, and then simply building another full strength titan a few minutes later.

Plus yelling "WHAT THE HELL" at them in all caps probably isn't that great of an incentive for them to finish the mod for ungrateful people like Mr. "WHAT THE HELL"

Is this a necro? Yes. Does it serve the purpose of answering the question? Yes. Anti corvette spam. A few well placed minefields can cripple a corvette rush.

Just curious about an issue that I know a few other people have had. So I pre-ordered rebellion, downloaded it on steam, registered the serial key. Clicked play, it said the game was unavailable. So I checked the local game files, and it said that two files failed to check out and would be reacquired. Great. Something downloaded, and I clicked play again. Still the game was unavailable. So I got my infinitely more tech savvy brother to look around. He deleted the local files and reinstalled t

I remember my brother saying something to the effect that the problem was that there was no exe file.
