Wallpapers that aren't deemed high enough quality (for various reasons) go to your personal gallery. We all have them. Sometimes they rate low quality for reasons like, they may be too busy for useability. Maybe a tad blurry, if it's a photograph. I think 3 mods vote on each wall. I have personal page only walls, and I'm a master. So don't be discouraged. It happens to all of us.
Yeah, I j
Whalecore
So "bad quality" wallpapers do not make it to the actual gallery? Or wallpapers that are just voted to go to the personal gallery?
Other forums would never allow a fun thread like this, but WinCustomize is cool [e digicons]B)[/e]
coffee .. coffee .. coffee .. coffee .. coffee .. coffee .. coffee .. coffee !!!! It could possibly have something to do with some other program running on the background since I don't think this used to happen to me, but it could also be Fences. Did you just install it recently / updated it?
Trying it now it does actually have a huge delay when moving the mouse and when the fence moves. I don't think it should be too hard to place your fences like this though, but yeah, this didn't use to happen.
Understand, being curious is one thing. Asking a Master skinner a question like that is close to personal. The answers you did get are about as far as some might be willing to go. A better question would be is how they got started or what inspires them to do what they do. At 17 you shouldn't be concerned about making money as a skinner, not that your are but it sounds that way. I'm not a master, only an apprentice. Why don't you try your h
I am not selling here, but even when I was selling on my own website, I was lucky to make maybe $50 a month if that helps.
Yeah, although WinC is a really popular site, you'd need A LOT of advertising to get even near as many views. But I think that you guys are misunderstanding me, i'm only curious about how much money some designers might make from releasing master skins, like how you'd be curious about
Something else to consider also is that you need to be a Master Skinner here to sell you work through the WC site. That doesn't mean that you can't have your own webpage and sell you work there.
Yes, I know that, I'm just wondering.
Whalecore most if not all Master Skinners don't talk about downloads and money in the forums. If you are
I'm not sure anyone would disclose how much they make, or their download numbers.
Why not? I'm not asking for any accurate numbers, just some rough download count of any one skin would be enough.
Not a skinner myself but I would think that most of the Masters here would agree that if you are looking to make money, real money, from creating Desktop GUI's you
I'm just wondering how much money do you guys make with your WB master skins on average? And how many less downloads do you usually get compared to regular WB skins? Also did it take long for you to become a master skinner :D
Working on a REALLY REALLY scary wallpaper :D Here's a little preview:
Uhhh. Dementia much? :D 2 of those wallpapers aren't even from this month.
Awesome, thanks, and grats to others!
Misspelled 'Heavan' :) Beautiful walls though!
These just got past the moderation: More fur :D What do you guys think?
Thanks! And yeah I didn't pay much attention to the globe, probably should have, at least on the water.
Fur can be a pain in the butt to do, nice job.
Thanks, I actually just sketched the fox quickly, drew some black and white on it and did the rest with the smudge tool, it was pretty easy!
I think he meant that the rating was visible with a 7 in it but the wallpaper pack was only shown in his personal page despite that it had a rating. Hes not whining about that it got rated a 7.
Notice the little rainy cloud on top [e digicons]|-)[/e] What do you guys think? I also just uploaded new white tiger fur folders, gonna post them when they'll get through the moderation.
Yeah I hate when people do that. It was cool when you we're 12 but if you're any bit older than that and you're using those it makes you look like an idiot Not that much related to this but another one is 'there' and 'they're', makes me so mad when people mix those up. It's like they never even went to school
Not a fan of that sort of 'big' skins but it looks pretty promising so far! I think it would look better if you added just a little bit of shadow to the tops of the windows too, especially on the top of the start menu which looks a bit jaggy.
Some progress: Edited the lightning, made it smaller and im currently working on the wooden wall
Looks good whalecore, I like your work. If I were doing it, I would make it smaller so it didn't take up a large portion of the desktop, but rather it was a symbol which could help contribute to the feel of the desktop theme. I mean I can tell you put a lot of work and detail into this, so it would be a shame to make it really small, so I wouldn't blame you for wanting to keep it a large portion of the wallpaper.
Ye
Really? :P Well yeah, deer skulls do look pretty scary And I used this pic as a model: http://uktaxidermy.co.uk/product_images/c/131/drews_pics_010__21933_zoom.JPG
Im working on a deer antlers wallpaper, its my first digital painting, im probably gonna add some digital effects to it as well, but anyways heres the preview: What do you think? Any ways to improve it? Any ideas on what to add to it? Im probably also gonna make it smaller for the final wallpaper
Fixed the pic. Terrific colors I must say, really like this theme, great job [e digicons][/e]
