When it comes to ENT contradicting canon or something, Star trek Canon is not concrete, Gene considered most of the movies uncanon and certain elements of others. Star Trek canon changes episode by episode, Gene was known to modify it so i wouldn't worry about the contradictions. ENT was just doing what Star Trek does, changing stuff!
