Just noticed on the Romulans after researching the frontal deflector shield upgrade, there is no icon to click on in the starbase menu options.
I haven't posted here in a long time but I just wanted to say that this is hands down one of the best trek mods I have ever played. All the ships are amazing and highly detailed. Each race plays as you would expect them to. I really enjoy and have been playing this mod since the original sins adaptation. To all the modders I by CouponDropDown">thank you truly for your diligence and hard work throughout the course of this project.
Interesting insight psy.
Is it me or is the Dominion defenses better balanced? They seem to be more on par with that of the other factions. I remember someone saying earlier in the thread that they felt the Dominion was more of a support faction. They seem to be more even now. Or maybe I have just gotten better at playing them?
Played the Borg for the first time in Rebellion today. Kudos on the Borg menu photos. They look great. Also some of the Borg structures look amazing with the Rebellion engine.
Psy are you the one who labels the research upgrades? Whoever it is has a gift for technobabble. You were probably a writer on the show. [e digicons][/e]
I love playing as the Borg. Yes they are overpowered. Yes you have to change the balance of enemies to make it more even. I still love playing them though. Their technology is so much different than the other factions. Helps to give the game higher replay value with them than without IMO. I don't think Fist intended to do this but please don't make them a non-playable faction.
The great thing about the beta is that Fist made it sound a few weeks ago like a Rebellion release was maybe a year away. The beta still has a few things to be added or modified but it's off to a great start.
Quoting myfist0, reply 3841Have to wait for psy on the Defiant,Sussed it - you need to target a hostile ship/structure. I thought it was a bit like micro-phase jump where you could just move to any location in the grav-well.
It worked in the last version of Diplomacy.
Played first game of Rebellion tonight. Well done team. The game looks and sounds great. Also appears stable for me. I started a game playing as the Romulans. So the orbital weapons platform damage has been reduced and the first level of upgrades only affect shield negation?
There will be an update soon concerning map generation. Vanilla planet list maps will be compatible with SOA2 and utilize the added militia features. Naturally this will also be going into Rebellion as well, which should be released some time late tomorrow.
Are you serious? I need more vacation time accrued!
Interesting. Thanks.
Isn't the Sins engine only able to use 2 GB of RAM? It probably wouldn't be worth it then. I have a decent computer (i7 3.4 Ghz, 8 GB RAM) and get slight hiccups on the larger battles.
Was playing again tonight. Love the added music. The interface looks more refined from the last diplomacy version as promised. Noticed that some of the ship models/textures are improved. Awesome! The new icons are nice. The new planet types and bonuses (with some being negative which adds to the strategy) are great as well. Odd question. I am figuring this is a Sins issue and not a SOA issue. The planets don't always look completely round. More like an octagon. Obvi
Excellent. Thanks for the info.
Have fighter/bomber speeds been slowed? They look slower. At least playing as the Federation. Also it would be nice to have different photos under the research sections for the Borg, Romulans, etc.
All I have to say so far is......holy crap. Fist said there would be changes coming and he wasn't kidding. Per request won't reveal some of the changes but very impressed so far with everything. I had to smile several times as new things were revealed. Thanks again for everyone's hard work.
Interesting stuff. Thanks again for all of your hard work.
Loaded Rebellion up for the first time in awhile today. SOA is going to be awesome once completed! Is it the lighting effects that make the ships look even more detailed than they were in Diplomacy?

Excellent. Will there be any new music for the Diplomacy/Rebellion release? The current music is fantastic and I love the different themes that each faction has. It would be nice to get some additional music though. Maybe I just play the game too much?
Just some observations. The Federation orbital defense platforms seem a bit weak next to their Klingon and Romulan counterparts. Also the Dominion defense platforms seem very underpowered. Are they supposed to cost 2 tactical spots?
Interesting thoughts. As the Dominion I also struggle against other fleets of similar shape/size. Question about the Borg. I notice once they have assimilated non-Borg vessels that often those same vessels essentially double their armor value. I take it this is by design? Those ships then become much more difficult to destroy without a larger fleet fighting the assimilated ships.
Thanks for the feedback.
Is the Dominion considered the weakest of the five factions? Or do I just suck at playing them?
