Stress & Co, Please don't forget the cardinal rule of internet message boards: don't feed the trolls. I know it's frustrating, but over 90% of all of the replies you get on these threads are about how great this mod is, how excellent it is compared to other mods, and similar points. People who love the mod usually post a handful of times, though there are exceptions who keep hanging around.&n
Darksxx you need to back off here. You admitted you just started playing the mod recently. The SOA team has spent thousands of hours playing, adjusting, playing, bug hunting, modifying, playing, bug hunting, you get the picture. If there are certain things you don't like about the mod that's fine. But the way that you are going about trying to get your suggestions implemented is going nowhere but backwards.
Nice job team on the planet bonuses. I will still occasionally come across one I hadn't seen before. Some creative ones in there too.
The Federation, Klingons, and Romulans all have the 25% speed bonus when the navigational buoy is built (for friendly ships in the gravity well). I personally like the bonus after the fighter/bomber speed was reduced when psy said it's not canon which I am sure is probably true. It would just be nice for the Dominion to have it to considering they tend to be weaker than the other races and most of their ships are pretty slow. No big deal though just a thought.
Is there a reason why 3 of the 4 races get the 25% speed boost in the gravity well from the Warp Field Disruptor but the Dominion doesn't? Their ships are so slow.
Terraforming will be DLC only? Noooooooooooooooo. May have to get it. Terraforming has been in the plans since before Rebellion was released. It's not new, we just weren't bothering to inform anyone. It's entirely unrelated to the DLC.
[e digicons][/e]
Well it is. It just doesn't use the new specialization features. DLC planet bonuses also missing. While we already have over 100 bonuses in the game already, from Sins Plus and Celestial Bodies, along with a few Trek specific bonuses, a few more never hurts. Also terraforming is coming. It even tells me what moon types are orbiting the Class-J's! <br /
Fair enough. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Any new surprises coming in the next version? You guys always seem to make solid additions and alterations.
Oops. I mean D'Deridex.
Having been playing the 1.51 version no crashing issues yet for me. As usual the development team's attention to details is impressive. I apologize if this has been asked before, but just out of curiosity, why do the Romulans D'Veridex have the two disruptor weapons but in the tech tree it's pulse gun for one of them?
I have been getting some lag lately to the point where it was noticeable. Not sure when it started. Upon turning off shadow detail the performance was drastically improved.
Someone is following the thread well
D'oh!
Tried the mod and I like it. However the Borg are very OP (With the federation seemingly the only faction able to deal with them, also possibly on purpose) And the Breen are pushovers. I fought a battle as Breen against a fleet half my size and all my ships died in the first 30 seconds. Also the fleet point cost for their first elite ship is insane (Mainly because it's abilities are mostly useless). I wo
Rebellion 1.51 has been released. Looks like mostly bug fixes and gameplay pretty much unaffected. I was able to load my saved game from 1.5. No issues so far.
Quoting a110, reply 4051it seems the dominion has a terrible early game, is there anything you can do if you start next to an unfair klingon ai See if you still say that after the next patch
Awesome. Can't wait.
Haha.....I should probably start playing with the effects options to give more valuable input. It does look like some of the slightly altered planet options is to give the impression of lights on the planet FWIW. At least on some of the H and M class planets. Some of the enhancements to the planet models in 1.5 do look good though.
does the red change if you change skyboxes?
Yep. That changed it. After playing with the two skybox options some of the M Class planets continents were the brownish tint while other parts of the same planet were are as they were colored before. Maybe it was just something that changed when I updated and it reset all of the options? I can't remember if I had those boxes checked from before. I hadn
For the last month or so I had been playing with Steam offline. I reconnected today thinking that the 1.5 Rebellion update would only update after purchasing the DLC. Oops. Should have payed more attention to the last page of this thread. The good: As far as it relates to SOA. Game plays stable for me no issues. Planet types for the most part look better. The distinct brown on continents on M Class planets look more realistic. Asteroids look fine. H-Class planets look g
Question about hangar defense. I noticed that the Federation still has 3 squadrons for 6 tactical slots but some of the other races have only 2 squadrons per 6 tactical slots. Noticed this is different from previous versions when all races had 2 tactical slots per squadron. With the reduction in tactical slots for many planet types just curious how this rebalances things.
Just an observation from an outsider who is not involved in the development of SOA and has followed this thread for about a year and enjoys the mod immensely. The development team has put in a ridiculous amount of time to get this mod to where it is all the while while losing other developers to "real" life. The balancing, the models, the music, fixing bugs, all has come out of their free time. Considering that the proposed changes would affect the basic gameplay (and A
Any possibility of adding the Klingon theme from ST:TMP? Would seem to be a nice addition when playing as the Klingons.
Ah. Not too much more satisfying than destroying the Enterprise [e digicons][/e]
Just realized it looks like the upgrade is done automatically.
