It takes a long time for a black hole to grow by absorbing materials, but just because a black hole seems to suck things in does not mean gravity shifts and planets change orbit. In order for that to happen a black hole first have to absorb a greater mass and then the gravity changes. A black hole does not grow as it cannot pass the mass of the star that caused said black hole. A good example is if earth's sun turned into a black hole right now nothing would change except there would no longer be sunlight. A event horizon the point where light begins to warp is where a black hole begins to "suck" things in. Besides galaxies usually have black holes in the center anyways. So black holes are out.
