There's already something like that, called "Debris Vortex" for the Orkulus, and "Improved Salvaging" I think, for Vasari capital ships. They repair hull and give back resources, respectively.
Wrath89
To add to that, will Sins/Entrenchment/Diplomacy continue to be used via what used to be Impulse, or will they be switched over to Stardock's new basic platform?
I don't really like pirates at all... they're annoying/unpredictable/slight roadblock, in addition to being AI controlled (obviously)... Their aesthetics are great but their gameplay-value is minimal IMO.
In other words, has anything at all changed except for the ICO server?
Being rude to the devs is probably not going to speed up the fix... they're aware of it already.

Is it boring? Yes, but it's often times the best strategy to use if you're trying to win. Exception: the Evacuator colony cap can be an extremely strong opener, even in very cramped 5v5 games. Well, it is a carrier cap, of course its superior firepower will allow it to shine above the other available caps :)
If it's any consolation, they all have counters... which is the reason I often let my opponent do whatever they're planning (spam, rush, whatever) so that I can then attempt to counter them, rather than just spam more LRF of my own and hope it works.
Is is just me or does Control-E now work again (by default) for selecting the search box? For some reason that shortcut was discontinued in favor of Panorama something quite a few months ago and I had to either switch to using Control-K or use a custom addon to change the shortcut back to control-E.
You could try updating the game while logged on to an admin account instead of a normal user account.

Well, there appear to be a very large number of Sins players who have no idea that ICO even exists. Since player counts online are low I'm figuring that I'll do what I can to increase awareness and lower the learning curve if possible, to lure more people online.
True, unfortunately its a decidedly inhospitable MP environment.
Once you understand the etiquette (which isn't that hard) it isn't bad at all... even relatively bad players come onto ICO often and play with other regulars.
