Would you pay money to see a fight between 700 lrf's and a rex? it was so awesome that chuck norris came and trashed my computer saying "nothing can be as awesome as me! i shall not allow it!"

A kol can do much more damage vs a titan than a marza can. Three kols spamming grg with flux field and finest hour is a powerful, near-impossible-to-destroy-without-concentrating-firepower-from-an-entire-fleet, titan counter.
Everyone can put them i believe, same way that multiple people can put starbases on the same planet to boost trade and defenses.
You know, the kol is not that bad. It slaughters militia early on with nearly the speed of a sova, it owns low level caps easily, its flak burst is very very helpful against advent swarms (even if you only have one, the burst will take them down to half health, thus giving your own fighters a field day). And its base damage really isn't that bad. A level six kol with finest hour going can actually dish out serious damage. A kol can fire in every direction.
There are 200 UN officials in Syria. Only half are paid. [e digicons]o_O[/e]
Ah, yes. Thank you for correcting me Goa, was making a silly assumption.
there is something for effectiveness on the wiki, yes. If you want to see fleets, just ask a pro for a replay of one of his/her games.
Ah, but its already undergoing destruction. Those are nukes going off on the planet [e digicons]:waaaa:[/e]
I don't believe it's possible, at least in diplomacy. Don't know about rebellion You could however do the same thing by making only one upgrade for each stack but making the upgrade do it all. (make the armaments upgrade for TEC bases add missles and beams with only one upgrade)
One problem i've seen is that the alliance titan is woefully underpowered compared to the others. in a straight up fight, it always loses.
Oh yeah, btw, SoaSE is glorious looking even now, after four years. It'll still be glorious in another four. Tell me it's not beautiful when you BRB an enemy frigate fleet
#1 No i don't think its an aging hag. I've been playing since 2008. #2 sorry for saying the fun gets taken out of it, i didn't mean that. What i meant was that those little things that give SP depth are absent in the face of tactical warfare. Its not that its less fun, its just different. While you don't have as much amusement along the way, your sense of accomplishment upon winning is far greater in MP
hmmmmm... are you using a mod, because the pirates should not be very deadly late game. I know with mods like Distant Stars and Maelstrom the pirates send out capital ships which (in DS) can be quite devastating.
serious problem. downloaded the new rebellion version, played a few games, had no problems with mines, then, wammo! i auto placed my minefield since i was lazy and had too much money and all of the mines ended up inside the planet. It's happened to me before with one or two mines but seriously? all of them? Might just have been bad luck. Unfortunately it also might be a problem with the auto place program.
I would agree, normally. But in a game with pirates, you get many more options. For instance, you could send the pirates after your neighbor at the same moment as using the wail and then attack him in another place, causing chaos and splitting his already weakened fleet. Doing this can be very effective. And dont forget the WotS/Malice combo.

Wow, don't be like that man... I've done that before too. Actually, i think that anyone who relishes fireworks has done this at one time or another. Some people aren't like "Oh, i have a bigger fleet than they do, i'm gonna go crush them right now". Some people actually enjoy overkill if you can believe it!
And then give you their resources before they leave

The thing is, in a competitive multiplayer game, the fun tends to get taken out of it. Example: When i'm fighting the AI, i might send a few kol battleships through the star to make a surprise attack against an enemy in concert with a pirate attack. On the way there i see a long line of trade drones and so like any depressed gothic twenty two year old, i just have to stop and blow them all up with rail guns. In multiplayer, all the fun little things you can
Really, the only way to truly get good at the game is to either play multiplayer (extremely irritating for a beginner) or just keep hiking the difficulty on the AI. Starbases are absolutely essential for a turtler. Get them and get them fast (15 minutes max). if you just want to whale on the AI, i would recommend downloading the distant stars mod. Its an enhancement mod for the base game that smooths out the game, beefs up the effects, adds a few new d
Hey, i think that the idea has credence, to a point. All factions should be able to move their starbase. (Maybe as a ability that makes them unable to use their weapons when doing so) But not phase jump. Vasari should be the only ones doing that, but i think it would be nice to be able to move a starbase around the gravity well if you need to. JURY RIG SOME ION ENGINES OR SOMETHING!
oooooooo... I hate that. by the way, this may sound obvious but your strategy really depends on your race. TEC have amazing economy and rushing strategies. They are at their best in the early game since their ships can slaughter militia fleets and expand with ease. When using the tec you should try to end things as quickly as possible or go for an all out economic boom. Rebels are better for rushing, Loyalists are unstoppable economically. <
