Hey All, Sorry if this qualifies as necro-posting or what have you, but I and my brother were having this exact same problem and worked through a variety of potential solutions which all failed to make the problem any better. After much frustration, we found a pretty simple guide on how to make it work. We are currently using a laptop and a desktop both running windows 7 and connected via a direct ethernet connection (no routers or anything).
