I have not got any email and I pre-ordered last night.

I have used steam going on 8 years now and never really had a problem, not to say there are not odd things with steam customer service. But it is a platform that helps support the little developers out there way more so than brick and mortar stores. A example of that would be Killing Floor by tripwire, it was a little known game when it first came out but now a few years later it has sold over a million copies.
