Playing vasari, its near the beginning of the game. Been 2 pirate raids so far, neither targetted me. Third targets me, the bounty was not very high. 32 ships attack me. I only have 3 planets, 2 capitol ships, and 8 frigates so far, and I get attacked by 32 pirate ships? Had to scrap the game and restart after turning pirates off. Are pirate raids now next to unbeatable, or is this a bug?

Trying to build a huge map, but cannot seem to get the phase lanes right. I set phase lanes at short, but they're always torturously long. I set for high probability of phase lanes, most planets end up with 2. My star system ends up with several long "arms" of planets stretching from it, most often these arms are unconnected, so I would have to go through about 10 planets to reach the star, then enter someone elses "quadrant". I have 5 different planet groups, each
Played all the titans except advent rebel, I have to say, although in early levels the vasari loyalist titan pretty much blows, maw more than makes up for it. Went in against a Vasari fleet with my TEC rebel titan and after a few minutes of fighting, realized I was virtually alone. The vasari titan just sucked up most my fleet (didn't have capitol ships with me). When I use it late game, it has to be the most fun of all titans, jumping into the middle of a fleet and suck
Heard corvettes are pretty good, how do you use them to best advantage? My frigates get quickly shredded in a fleet battle, how will something even squishier survive?
Any of these ships any good? I know the TEC ship is ugly as sin, but are any of them must-builds?
Those pirate ships that start marauding your system when your empire gets big, is there something that triggers them, or is it just size? Any trick for keeping them away? They're an annoyance mostly, but they're like fleas on a dog, they itch and you can't seem to get rid of them.
Okay, maybe I was wrong to say TEC is overpowered, its more that some of their attributes make it really not fun to play against them. I don't care if I lose, I get bored if I win all the time, but I want to fight fleets, not guns that are 10 jumps through hostile territory away. I want to fortify strongpoints, not have to put a starbase on every planet just so they can't snipe them all away. As far as the ogrovs, repair bays can't compensate for the amount and s
Wasn't really trying to troll, just frustrated. I had a fully equipped advent starbase, full armor/shield upgrade, 5 fighters/5 bombers, 1 meteor control, etc. Had 2 repair bays by it, 1 hangar for an extra 2 bombers, 1 fighter. My fleet left the system, was not gone 5 minutes before 10 ogrovs showed up. Managed to take out 3 of them before the starbase was destroyed. They had accompanying flak frigates. My fleet was one jump away and could not make it
Getting sick of playing against TEC. Spamming novalith cannon so I have to build starbases in every system, then coming in with a few cheap ogrov cruisers to destroy a fully upgraded starbase in 30 seconds. I can't even get a fleet from a neighboring system to make one jump before the starbase is trash. Seems all the fun and strategy from entrenchment is gone now. It should be about fleets with complements of different supporting ships battling it out, not superwea
Sounds like a lot of juggling of forces, would be nice if they would automatically behave this way. Unless I micromanage them, they'll just get in close and duke it out.
Okay, so how do I keep them alive? I know they have a power that makes ships stop attacking them, but it doesn;t last, and then they're dead. Do I just send out a lot of them and hope a few survive long enough to do some good? i rarely bother killing the AI envoys, not worth diverting any forces to chase them down, wait til their stop attack power fades, chase again, etc.
Do they actually do much? When I've built them, they always die if I send them somewhere without a cease fire, and if I have a cease fire, why do I need them? My "allies" always waste their time with tons of them instead of building cruisers and capitol ships to defend their own planets. When they are sent to me, am I supposed to like that faction better? Seems like they're useless against a human player, but maybe I don't understand them.
I know they're cheap, and they're supposed to provide a big chunk of the firepower, but they get destroyed in the first 2 minutes of a fight, leaving me wishing for all cruisers. Wouldn't a good sized number of heavy cruisers and carriers be better than tons of squishy frigates that can't survive a fight?
If a titan that is higher level get destroyed, when you rebuild it, is it lvl 4? Was playing a TEC faction the other day, and I kept destroying their titan, and 10 minutes later its back and its lvl 4 again. Takes me forever to get a titan from lvl 1 to lvl 4. Is this just something for the harder AI settings? That faction was set on hard mode.
Is there a way to select all bombers or fighters in a gravity well? Its hard rounding them up to order them to attack specific targets. Right now I send them all away from the fleet, select them all, and ctrl-# them, so whenever I press that # I select them. Kind of a pain though when you add more ships with more bombers and have to keep redoing it.
Is the experience from destroying a ship evenly distributed among ships in that gravity well? I'm wanting to earn experience for my titan, would it be better to put him in solo so it doesn't have to share experience with a fleet?
I agree with the above, the phase stabilizer power is good, but the cooldown is ridiculously long. being able to summon ships from far back in your empire as they are built would be great in a fight, quickly replacing losses. The instantaneous jump is fun, if it were combined with greatly increased turning speed and a little more base range it could be very interesting, jumping in and out of combat, it could "herd" fleets, jumping in front of fleeing ships to try to round them up.
Really? thats good, so it won't be there in the future. twice now I've noticed titans losing hundreds of points of experience by sitting idle.
Seems the novaliths make it very hard to play the game the way some of the factions are set up. Some factions are more defense oriented. Whats the purpose of 2 starbases in a system when the enemy never even has to attack you with a fleet? 4 novaliths can do an insane amount of damage. If 2 are targetted at the same planet, the planet is lost, even your capitol. They can wipe out planets far faster than you can restore them. I had a colony ship stationed at
I'm a little undewhelmed by it. So it can jump a ways instantaneously, kinda nice when chasing down the capitol ships that always run away, but a very situational power. Does the damage reduction power make up for the transporting power being a little lame in a battle? From what I've read, the rebel titan is very powerful in comparison.
Yeah, with the AI shooting off novaliths like theres nothing else to do, makes me feel I have to rush the game to destroy them, or else let my planets get chewed up indefinetly. Its okay to give AI superweapons, but there should be a restriction on range, like no planet more than 3 jumps away, so at least you have a chance to try and combat it in a reasonable amount of time. I hate playing TEC now, its not about big fleet battles, its all about the novalith. The pathetic del
Why does my titan lose experience if I'm not constantly chewing up fleets? I get 1100xp, sit in a newly conquered system for a little while building it up and replacing destroyed ships, and now my titan has 850xp. It takes a long time to earn xp, since most ships run from me, and destroying structures and wiping out planets provides minimal xp. I'm okay with the slow xp gains, but don't take what I have earned. Is there any rationale I am missing for this?<
Has the TEC Novalith Cannon been changed for Rebellion, primarily in the way the AI uses it? I have been playing for a long time, and have never encountered much from this weapon, but in Rebellion so far, they're firing all over the place, and I can barely keep my planets alive. I'm having to bolster every planet up to max defense and race across the galaxy to take them out. My asteroids and dwarf planets don't stand a chance. Each TEC faction builds at lea
