Sorry for the delayed reply, I have just finished my exams. The only reason I looked it up was because I was having an extremely difficult time culture bombing a TEC opponent even though I had what SHOULD have been a massive advantage. He had a single media center on the planet, plus 2 supporting planets which I think had 3 media center between the two. Against my SB which had FULL node upgrades +60% in culture bonuses and +28% in social upgrades (+90 culture even with buggy dis

Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but i have found an error with the advent loyalist tech confluence of the unity. At max level it is supposed to provide 60% bonus to culture spread, and this was tested using starbase AND temple of communions, and it only gave half that (see edit below). Additionally, while testing I found that existing temple of communions dont update your culture research unless you place or destroy/rebuild the

ill just say that holding vs titan is usually incorrect... played a FFa the other day where my lvl 7 titan was the only thing keeping me in the game, and it was not dying (i.e. killing LRM and escaping) vs 1400 fleet supply of caps and LRM. do not under any circumstances feed a titan...

Whelp, guess I will be replying first, although I realise at this point after the incomprehensibly of Cliverbugs last post there is probably very little point. Cliver, I never threatened to ban anyone, I just said if you come into a game and want to use the z axis then let people know. I never said I would ban you, if you can find players who agree that z-axis is indeed a clever and interesting tactic then by all means play with them. If not, please be courteous to othe

This is the thing though, this is supposed to be a space sim, but only half of the game is implemented using the z axis... what kind of idiot general would put no guns on the top of a starbase, or build a phase jump inhibitor which cant even reach ANY enemy fleet? it isnt 'outsmarting' your enemy to exploit the fact that if you use z axis most defences are essentially useless. That is akin to saying you are 'outsmarting' your enemy when you 2v1 some poor guy in a free for all.

Hi guys, Australian (+10) timezone here! I am a halfway decent player, can open properly and play all races, but am looking to increase my skill level and actually find more people to play sins with! Favorite race: AR (but i like cannon rushes with TL, VL mass assailant or planet chomp rush or turtling with AL) Your playstyle: aggressive, usually using a rush of some kind, tech or simply gunning for a large fleet Do you have any experience in ot

I agree completely with greg, in 45minutes I had maxxed out my capital ships and 75% of my total fleet supply, although this changes based on the available planets. This could be a problem as it will greatly influence how VL perform on different maps, in turn making them difficult to balance on the bigger, more planet heavy maps. I think the top payout needs to be reduced (by a fair bit, say to 12500 for a terran, and move the other planet types down to around 7500), and the bottom payout inc

If it is based on the size of the population it will be far less useful for offensive purposes. It will require the fleet to babysit the planet while the pop cap is reached and the (expensive) upgrades are applied, which will compound the late game problems VL have with culture. I think better balanced returns are needed (over 30 minutes of rez from the planet are deposited immediately), perhaps this would work better as a staged approach. The problem with eliminating the large bonus entirely

This is exactly what I have found, after you rush the tech, you basically send a lone evac around and just get unlimited monies. If you cant find any worthy planets just strip your homeworld and you're rolling in cash. In MP, defence is a much higher priority, expec against the rebels as they will be SB rushing you, but other than that...

I dont know, I was just playing both rebels and loyalists, and I found that both get their uniques at about the same time. The problem when playing as loyalists is defending the SB rush, as the SB gets in the grav-well early, then then the jumping will come at around the time you get your unique. I found I usually had to counter with my own SB on my homeworld, which slows my teching down a ton. what have you guys found?

I dont know. I think that stripped to the core comes wayyy too early and is kinda incredibly, insanely OP and neutralizes any underpowered ships incl. the titan the loyalists have. What are people's thoughts on this? (id be happy to demonstrate in a game :P)
